And that is exactly how Bill White (or similar) would become the next Governor of Texas.
Then maybe Perry should have stepped up to the plate when he was called.
You'd rather have proven anti-gun former Houston Mayor Bill White as Governor?

Chas.
But, of course, that's a false dichotomy. I've seen several posts lately saying that would should continue to support Perry because he's not anti-gun, he's not as bad as White, etc. But that's simply not true - we're not limited to choosing between Perry and White. There are plenty of other candidates we can support - particularly those whith Tea Party or Libertarian views. Perry was challenged in the primaries last time around, and I'm sure he will be again. We can rally together behind someone like Medina or Abott. Can you imagine what would happen if the TSRA endorsed someone other than Perry in a primary and was up-fornt about why? Perry might still win, but at least he'd know that he can't run on past victories forever. The same holds true for the Lt. Governor and legislative offices.
Yep
Then you are an enemy of the Second Amendment and Texas gun owners.

Chas.
BTW my "yep" was to what truefrog said not what you said.

That would be punishing the people of the State of Texas more than it would be punishing Perry. Cutting the nose off to spite the face.
I am 1 vote, but if you have a better idea on how to punish him so it only hurts him I am all ears.
Make sure there is a better candidate in the running for which to vote by actively participating in the process. Splitting the vote just to punish him can come back to haunt you. I can assure you I would rather have Perry in office with his record than Bill White or Julian or Juan Castro.
As of last election I stopped worrying about splitting the the vote as I will no longer vote along party lines so that is not an issue, now as for Perry I hope a better person shows up on stage to run against him. The Repubs have become something I don't like the only thing good lately is Cruz.

Re: Letter to Governor Rick Perry

Honestly I see no difference between Perry and an Anti, except of course the anti is at least honest about what they are want to do. All he had to do was add these thing to the special session and let the chips fall where they will and if it failed then so be it but nope he failed, so next election I will vote for anyone but him. I hope his political career dies in a ball of flames.
