Re: LTC Renewal Time

Pretty simple- DPS is very much slammed now & it’s only snow balling.- especially for people with any criminal background. (regardless of how minor & how far back).

Re: App. process time if I recently held LTC in Washington st?

I’ll also add in that it makes zero difference in background check times if you had an out of state gun license or not.

HB 2046

I’ll probably be crusified on here, but I very much support this Bill! I oppose HB 1149! I’m glad that a person with a DWI or Assault conviction has to wait 5 years! I also think dead beat parents that don’t pay child support should be denied. I’m happy with the current Eligibility requirements in p...

Re: Out of state DL with PO box address

You cannot have a PO Box printed on the face of your Texas license to carry.

Re: Who Supports Gun Control?

I support the Eligibility requirements of obtaining a license to carry. I’m glad those that don’t meet these requirements cannot freely carry in public places.

Re: LTC denial question

It’s 5 years for any alcohol and/or drug treatment. You will be ok after 5 years to re-apply. Yes, you can carry under an out of state LTC in meantime. (like Virginia, FL, AZ, etc).

Re: Everything in proper order

To me, it’s best to first take course, then pay/apply online, then get prints taken, & lastly submit your documents (including receipt from fingerprint place).

Re: CHL Denial Question

I know I’m 100% correct on this. It’s 5 years from your judgement date. It’s not 5 years from when you completed your probation period.

Re: CHL Denial Question

It’s 5 years from your disposition date, in other words the conviction date. (date of judgement). In cases where you get deferred adjudication- it’s the date you are give. Def Adj. NOT 5 years from when you ended your probation.

Re: Address change questions

Simple rule- the address on your LTC should always be the same as the address on your DL.

Re: Well... there goes Constitutional Carry

I’m glad we don’t have constitutional carry. I like that LTC holders must pass a background check based on current standards in LTC law book. I’d rather not open the door wide open for any & everyone to freely carry wherever they like. Sorry, but if you get convicted of a DWI, I’m glad you’re not el...

There is no residency requirement here at all. You don’t have to worry about that what so ever.

Re: Class A Misdemeanor - Judgement "Set Aside"

Sorry but you can’t set aside a deferred adj., you can only set aside a straight conviction. I’m willing to bet this was Dallas Co., they are notorious for misusing “set aside” wording.
