Re: National First Responder Day

Thank you to our heroes! My daughter is an ER nurse and my son-in-law is a Firefighter/Paramedic/Swift water rescue cert, so this is an extra special day for our family.

Re: Houston Polling place with stack of Licenses to scan

I didn't know at the time it was a violation for us both to be in the vehicle. The poll worker took a long time to re-do my wife's log in and while we waited I noticed an SUV in the next lane with four people in it and they all appeared to have voted. At the time I didn't give it a second though, b...

Re: Two new babies - one delivered one, one on the way

I finally got to shoot my new Kimber. I only shot two magazines, but I am pleased with it. Nice trigger and I put all the rounds in the head of the big green silhouette target at 7 yards.

Re: Railroad commissioner

I won't get into the argument about wasted votes for third party candidates, but I will always remember the 1992 Presidential election. Ross Perot likely was responsible for Bill Clinton's election. With out Perot as a choice I can't imagine his supporters/voters would have voted for Clinton, who on...

Re: RIP Jerry Jeff Walker

I always liked his music. Mr. Bojangles is my favorite song that he wrote. So many people have covered that song. Years ago I burned a CD with all of the versions I could find. RIP JJW Circa 1965 during high school my brother, a couple of friends and I organized a Folk Lore Society at our high scho...

Re: I said something stupid

Lesson learned. A few years back I flipped someone the bird while driving (yeah, they were driving hugely irresponsibly and it made me livid) - then I immediately realized that it was the most stupid thing to have done and it wouldn't have taken much for the whole event to have gone sideways. I cri...

CNN, MSNBC, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer all say Trump mishandled every one of those pandemics and is responsible for all the deaths. He'll be extensively questioned about them Thursday night.

Re: Why is the Texas Republican Party trying to stop drive-thru voting?

Wife and I went yesterday also. I got off early (3:00 pm) so we headed to the Bi-State Justice Building where voting has been done since we moved here in 1988. Nope! Had to go across town to a new place. We pulled into the parking lot, and I was appalled. Barely found a place to park. Got inside to...

Re: Looking for hunting round in .308 or 7.62x51

That is a pretty good description of what I've read in other places. I am going to take some surgical gloves, but hadn't thought about those kevlar fish fillet gloves. Good suggestion! I do have a lopper and if the guys that are taking me don't have one already I was going to bring mine. I forgot t...
