Re: .22 cal LR not reliable for SD, is a .380?

cmgee67, Wow! I thought I was grumpy...just please remember: No one is forced to read what others post. To all: Thanks, I cheerfully thank you all for your responses. Abraham, Some may not have had their coffee. I do find it interesting and telling that so many new pistols in .380 have come o...

Re: .22 cal LR not reliable for SD, is a .380?

This has been and will continue to be addressed ad nauseum, it’s just the nature of the topic. Some info on documented SD round use is great, some is too biased to rely upon. Think about it logically, you need to stop a deadly threat that is trying to take your life or someone around you. The piece...

Re: .22 cal LR not reliable for SD, is a .380?

Puma guy, your stories about selling .25 auto pistols reminds me of that famous quote by the late Col. Jeff Cooper, who said: [C]arry a 25 if it makes you feel good, but do not ever load it. If you load it you may shoot it. If you shoot it you may hit somebody, and if you hit somebody – and he find...

If you would have called her a "skunk", you would not have been banned. Twitter likes "Skunk".
Another friend of mine suggested I use “slattern”, a word I have used before, but not in a long time.
Had to look that one up!

Re: .22 cal LR not reliable for SD, is a .380?

That the .22 Rimfire has no "knockdown" power can hardly be debated. That the .22 LR can and is often lethal is undeniable. The arguments regarding effectiveness of the .380 vs 9mm and everything else are plentiful on the internet. I have seen some test with .380 defensive rounds in ballistics gel t...

Ford Willow Run Assembly Plant one B-24 every 55 minutes

I was sent this video and was amazed by it. First by the fact it was ready in June 1941, six months before Pearl Harbor, and second by it's efficiency. Built by Henry Ford it was the largest plant under one roof at the time and had a 90 degree turn at one end to avoid paying taxes in an additional c...

Re: Postal Service is a joke...

Just because you use FedEx or UPS doesn't guarantee it won't be handled delivered by the USPS. I've had "several around the world" snafus. If USPS shipping is the only choice I always use priority. If your two day arrival turns into two weeks, the post office offers no apologies.

Trying to buy a Ruger 10/22 is very trying!

I have a substantial Wal-Mart/Sam's gift card given to me by my daughter from when we put her on our cell phone plan. I have many .22 rifles, bolt actions, pumps, a lever and half a dozen semi autos. I began selling firearms a year after the Ruger 10/22 was introduced and sold quite a few, but never...

I posted a bit of a rant about hunting licenses and fees and everything... it really is getting ridiculous. It's not just about conservation or funding the Texas Parts and Wildlife... If that was the case, (what I thought they should do) is tax EVERYONE who works and pays taxes a small tax that fun...

Re: Walked out of Academy Last Night

This just happened to me last week when I was buying a bottle of Frog Lube to try out. No ammo, no magazines, no weapons. Just lubricant that could be used on a firearm. They asked me for ID, I asked the girl why and she held up the bottle. Academy is really getting out of control. Sorry but the go...
