Re: New Address
I got the CHL, thats why I don't want to mess with the NICS check. Its part of the reason I even got the CHL.

New Address
Just moved and have a hankering to feel better about my first home purchase and outfit it with some new firearms.
If I have the change of address receipt and the temporary ID with all the originals, would I still be able to purchase without any hassle or having to wait on those pesky NICS checks ...

When a school turns into to a church?
I think the answer is "no you can't carry" but maybe I am wrong.
Some churches are being set up at middle or elementary schools, can you carry there? Again, I read it as no, but could you make the argument that its not a school function?
...but its still school property.
Remember I said no, it ...

Re: CHL Concern
. . .He has attacked family members, including myself, and completely lacks a filter.
I really wouldn't stir up a pot like this if I wasn't legitimately concerned.
Attacking you is against the law. Did you call the police? This would have/should have been the perfect time to intervene. If not ...

Re: CHL Concern
The fact that he/she has a CHL is irrelevant. Criminals carry firearms all day long without them. If this person was planning to commit a crime using a firearm then taking away his CHL wouldn't stop him.
I'm not sure what you think needs to be done. Take away his CHL? Meaningless. Take away his ...

Re: CHL Concern
If you take or try to take a CHL away from a holder just because
you think a person should not have a CHL then you are helping the gun grabbers.
If gun grabbers get away with taking up CHL on suspicion that someone is psychological
unstable then all the grabbers have to do is take a list of gun ...

CHL Concern
I happen to know someone that has their CHL, but I also know that they are not a stable person and I do not know one person that knows him which would disagree. As much as I support the carry of lawful citizens, which he has no criminal record, I am genuinely concerned for the general public ...

Re: The boss keeps a gun but I cant?!
I have been notified, no doubt about that. However, I would think that if he says I can't carry then he shouldn't be able to either. How can you legally notify someone that they can not carry when you do at neither persons personal property? I understand that he may have the power and all, but it ...

Re: The boss keeps a gun but I cant?!
Don't shoot the messenger, but in Texas, your boss can end your employment for any reason not specifically prohibited by law, or for no reason at all. Neither carrying firearms nor insubordination are protected behaviors in employment law at this time. ( AFAIK; IANAL; TANSTAAFL )

Re: The boss keeps a gun but I cant?!
What pisses me off about the whole thing is that this guy (my boss) is a CHL instructor and then tells me I cant carry...what the heck?
If he is a CHL instructor, one would have to assume he knows full well what verbal notice is and the legal implications. Consider yourself legally notified.
