Re: AR Poll

I am no expert on the subject, but while doing some research on different makes of the ar platform, I found this write up very useful. Which model is better is anyone's personal opinion, but some of the detailed differences are worth noting such as staking the gas key, firing pin shroud, quality of ...

Re: WTS - AR15 mid-length carbine - DFW

I'd really be interested in picking it up. I was looking at a few AR's on-line but to get one from the estimable AndyC would be a no brainer. Only thing is, I have to check my schedule on when I could make it to Dallas. Might be a week. Don't know if that's a problem for you.

Re: Dallas: Resident arrested after shooting intruder

IT seems there is a lot if missing information in the report coupled with people making assumptions about what happened. It doesn't say she what she said specifically and it does not say she shot him in the head 3 times. It says she shot him in the head and that she fired 3 times. Alot of speculatio...

Re: CHL shows up in background check

I personally have had a background check done on myself by non-law enforcement that showed a line for CHL (yes/no) so it is possible. It wasn't for a job application and was around summer 2009.

Re: Great target for training...from me to you...post your s

I saw those dot targets on a site a while back and just couldn't remember where.. Well after about 2 hours of searching here is the article: http://www.lawofficer.com/news-and-articles/articles/lom/0603/fight_to_win.html "Dots Shooting The classroom moves to live-fire range. In the early 1980s,...

Re: .380 ammo

You might find out when they receive their shipments and stock their shelves at Academy or Wal-Mart and check or call regularly at that time. Once at Academy, after a fruitless trip looking for some ammo, I asked the clerk if they ever got it in and if so, how often. He replied that they got shipmen...

Re: Walther P99?

I have the latest generation p99 in .40 cal with the AS trigger. The trigger is great in SA mode, very light and short for follow up shots. When decocked into DA mode, it has a longer, heavier pull which I feel is safer for carry (although I couldn't say for sure as I am still waiting on my plastic)...
