They run a perfect bell curve of the good cop/bad cop chart. My wifes cousin is now a Federal Marshall and I trust him completely and he is a credit to his profession and a shining example to all. His brother also became a cop and was fired for gross misconduct, the final straw being a fist fight between himself and another officer on duty in uniform. I had a cousin who was so corrupt (we all knew it, it was obvious) that after he was arrested it is believed he was beaten to death by fellow officers to keep from implicating them. I have an old musician band mate that is now CHP in California who is also a shining example of a great cop who does his job admirably.

Like anyone else there are good ones and bad ones and most are right square in the middle doing their jobs and going about their business...just like every single profession in the world. Hats off to all who have worn a badge and tried to keep us loonies in line. :tiphat:
This fight was captured on video...

I too am sorry about his personal attack gigag04.

Hmmmm, sounds like "Suicide by Moderator" to me! :biggrinjester:

Sounds like they just gave up.
Until the missing video is found...if ever. :waiting:
The video is with the missing 18 1/2 minutes of the Nixon tapes, and the true explanation of the Kennedy Assination -- Jimmy Hoffa has them... :biggrinjester:

In January, Mendiola was charged with a felony for unlawfully giving a handgun to a twice-convicted felon in an unrelated case. His preliminary hearing is set for May.

Re: CHL holder killed by police in Las Vegas at a Costco

I've just found actual video of the inquest, and the testimony of Mosher!

Re: CHL holder killed by police in Las Vegas at a Costco

I thought this was interesting...
Mosher testified that he didn’t know that the gun was in its holster at the time he fired. He said he owns the same type of holster, and the gun could be “easily fired” while in its holster.
What type of holster allows access to the trigger area? Of what use is a holster that allows the firearm to be fired from within? :headscratch

I doubt that the security cameras would be considered a "critical system". That's for systems who's failure would cause a loss of money, or business. Point-of-sale systems, servers for web-based businesses, backup systems, etc.

Re: CHL holder killed by police in Las Vegas at a Costco

Hmm, is it common for police to surround a subject, then shoot toward the center of the circle? Anybody else see a problem there? :headscratch

I am the webmaster of several sites that have no interest outside of Galveston, but they get hits from south Asia almost hourly.

Hacking is a federal felony. Regardless of how corrupt so-and-so may be, they have little to gain by committing a felony that could be traceable within the U.S.

They aren't necessarily just vandals. Also looking for vulnerable systems to take over for spam-bots, hacker-bots and Denial-of-Service (DoS) bots, etc. They aren't just kids looking to destroy, they are often criminal organizations looking to make a buck (or a million bucks) using somebody else's hardware. They can also be terrorist organizations, or even nations (china). They don't care, and often don't even know where the machine is they're hacking into. The internets underbelly is quite slimy!

Re: CHL holder killed by police in Las Vegas at a Costco

The only sign I've seen at our Costco is the "Unlicensed Possession" sign, since they sell beer and wine.
