Re: Scottsdale (AZ) officer - has shot six during 12 yr care

My how quickly we forget men like Bill Jordan or Jim Cirillo and others who laid their lives on the line daily. Guess today such men would be branded as "rogue cops" or "out-of-control killers" and served up as fodder for desk bound pencil pushers to investigate and attempt to charge with criminal l...

Perhaps we should hear from one of those old guys in the wig....
If a law is unjust, a man is not only right to disobey it, he is obligated to do so.

Re: I just had a close encounter...

Another family I knew caught a bear on video swimming in their pool.
Remember the scene from "Caddyshack" with the Baby Ruth floating in the pool? Gives it a whole new meaning.

Re: Surrendered weapon after Motor Vehicle Accident

I have a feeling the OP was driving a yellow car. Everyone knows that yellow cars are considered inferior in Texas and with good reason. Just for the record, I would probably try to avoid confessing if I were driving a yellow car. :biggrinjester: Yellow car? Yellow car? As in a taxi? Or one of thos...

I'm not sure I understand all the either/or here. Am I to suppose that you fellas need a refresher course in whining and begging and reasoning and wrangling with the missus to get her to allow you to buy several of each? :smilelol5:

Re: Surrendered weapon after Motor Vehicle Accident

Good points Jim. Not to be offering excuses for El Paso PD if they are in the wrong, but El Paso is just (literally) a stone's throw away from the most violent city on earth. The epidemic of violence spills over now and then. I can only imagine the stress the LEO's and their families are going throu...

Re: Can A Landlord Do This?

To the OP...I'm surprised someone didn't mention this. If you just act as if nothing has changed the probability is extremely high that whoever owns the property now will not own it at some time in the future. Owning apartments is like gambling - far more losers than winners.

Re: Call me irresponsible FIRST LOOK

Sorry I was out of town and just got the LW15 lower on Monday. I am impressed. Is it the best lower I've ever seen? No, but then it functions perfectly and has a decent trigger group. I've been using a dry fire adapter from my HighPower gun and the trigger is getting smoother with use - not that it ...

Re: s&w m&p15x or s&w m&p15 psx??

My 2 cents, for what it's worth. I cannot comment on the S&W's directly - never owned one. But, as a general rule, I'm not going to bother with piston guns until somebody standardizes the design. Otherwise, you could wind up with an expensive paperweight when no parts can be found. I have two M4 typ...

Re: Call me irresponsible if you like...

OldCannon....Sorry. I forgot you were a dealer. I even forgot where it was I first heard about these. I was skeptical until I did some thinking. I have carried Glocks for years. They are pretty much indestructible, in my experience. So I started to question why I was stuck on aluminum. And the answe...

Call me irresponsible if you like...

I ordered on of these lowers for an old AR-15 upper that had been relegated to gathering dust: http://www.lw15.com/ The thing is made of a polymer that is close to what Glock uses. Their price simply cannot be beat - $99 for a COMPLETE lower including an M4 buttstock. All US parts. You can change ou...

Re: Bench Rest Shooting

Arrrgh....Well I can't see my toes either, but it's because I have chest-o-drawers disease. My chest fell into my drawers. I suppose if I lived in Japan I would be revered as a wise old man. Here I'm just an old...er...well whatever. :???: I probably should have cleared up what kind of equipment I w...

Re: City of Chicago Pays $399.95K to 2nd Amendment Foundatio

The PD may have some equipment and training that the gunowners do not have, but there is an old military saying about quantity having a quality of its own. You are exactly right. I was privy to some of the planning scenarios back in the 70's and 80's and the military's worst nightmare was facing a ...

Re: Bench Rest Shooting

What's the best magnification scope for 300 yards? Most of my guns have 10x or greater scopes to go out to longer ranges. There should be more research in choosing your scope than even your rifle because a poor quality scope negates a quality gun. Same thing for the base (if needed) and the scope m...
