Nearly-forgotten history: Mutiny on the Bounty
Every literate person knows that the British ship HMS Bounty fell to a mutiny 1789, led by one Fletcher Christian. The mutineers decamped to Pitcairn Island in the south Pacific, where they survive today. Mister Christian still has living descendants on Pitcairn Island to this day. One of them, rath...

Re: Las Vegas: "Sovereign citizens" busted
What is or is not relevant? Every police report is going to list name, age, sex, race, place of residence, nationality, and immigration status if known. They also try to get profession or job (or lack thereof) and marital status. All these things can be relevant to an alleged crime. It's Fox News, b...

It isn't media bias. It is a fact. They are about as white as someone can be without being an albino.

Re: Las Vegas: "Sovereign citizens" busted
They usually seem to want to be free from taxes, speed limits, vehicle registration, and insurance. But I've never been able to get one of these people who thinks U.S. currency is "worthless" to give me some of his.

Las Vegas: "Sovereign citizens" busted
In Las Vegas, two so-called sovereign citizens, a 67-year-old white former beauty queen and a 42-year-old white convicted sex offender, were arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit murder and attempted kidnapping. Authorities allege that they were conspiring to kidnap and execute police offic...

Re: extra Magazine laws?
... under Texas law, is it unlawful to open carry magazine? No. The only Texas law on possession of ammunition concerns convicted felons, and that is the same as federal law. Having a visible magazine might draw unwanted attention, but it is not illegal in general public places (not the secure area...

Let me put this in mature, adult terms: Boo. Hoo. <sniff> I apologize for this snarky comment. That said, I and other people tried to answer the question of the original poster in a reasonable way. The question was not how many males are victims of sexual assault. It's too bad we don't have CHL For...

That has been a frustration since the beginning.jmra wrote:The PDFs on the site I was looking at did not reference the codes they were charged under.
Anyway, a CHL holder who has been convicted of a weapons violation has to have messed up big-time.

Re: Signs vs Case Law?
Unlawful carry would be PC 46.02. I'm willing to go out on a limb and say most if not all of these were DWI arrests. It would be interesting to know the details, but I don't have the time or energy to look them up. DWI by an armed CHL holder should be 46.035(d), but anyone who thinks these things ar...

Re: Signs vs Case Law?
No. As far as I know, no one as ever been convicted of a 30.06 violation. I just want to remind people, case law means that someone was convicted of a crime, appealed the verdict, and had it upheld or reversed by an appeals court. Having charges dropped, being no-billed by a grand jury, or found not...

No, they are not envious, but gun shy. They've been shot before ... This was when my circle of friends were in their 20s. I was the first to get married, but not by much. Most of them were married within a year or two of graduating college. However, I've noticed that children of divorced couples or...

Re: Bellaire: "It can't happen here"
I'd like to know the reason also. Are people more unomfortable with a lady with a gun ... I don't know. Read Dear Abby or any such advice column. It seems women criticize their "friends" over everything from romantic relationships to child-rearing. Men are not immune to this, either. I ha...
