According to a poster on packing.org who called Sen. Harris' office, the senator 'made a mistake' and did not mean to include CHL holders and was working to 'fix' the issue. Sounds like some backpedalling garbage to me. His modifications specifically modified the concealed carry statute so I don't buy that it was an accident. I think the heat he's feeling is already taking the momentum from this bill. I have written my district Senator and I think most active packers in TX are as well.

When are these guys going to learn? If I wanted to kill a kid with a gun, a law about school parking lots isn't going to stop me one bit. This law is much more likely to have negative side effects for those who carry and leave the weapon in their car when going to school activities.
Time to write letters and hopefully the TSRA has some things to say. :)
