Re: Lonestar Armory Run and Gun (Biathlon)

I still want to do one of the Impact Run n Gun events out here in West Houston. I need to get off my butt.

Re: Lonestar Armory Run and Gun (Biathlon)

But I see these events more as a way to gauge your own strengths and weaknesses and to compete against yourself for further improvement down the line.
Oh absolutely. I've found that to be true with many such endeavors. I am not a runner and never have been. My interest in shooting has pushed me to look into these events as something to train for. I am wanting to start a running program here pretty soon and this is the push I need.

Thanks again for sharing your experience, it sounds like a fantastic if not challenging time.

Re: Lonestar Armory Run and Gun (Biathlon)

Appreciate the advice and encouragement. I follow their Facebook page and some of the other run and gun pages to keep the motivation fresh. That is good to read that DNFs aren't that unexpected.

Re: Lonestar Armory Run and Gun (Biathlon)

Appreciate the detailed AAR. I saw some of the photos and videos on Facebook and it looked quite muddy.

I am clearly nowhere near the fitness level required to do something like this but it's something I definitely want to train for.

Re: Lonestar Armory Run and Gun (Biathlon)

I've just recently learned of these events and they're something I definitely want to start working toward. These would be a great fitness training goal (ie a purpose for training beyond general fitnesss) AND an excuse to purpose build-out an AR beyond general plinking or defense.

I had not heard of this particular event before so it's on my list. :tiphat:
