Outdoor Range?

My wife had her license in Oklahoma, but now that I've returned her to her homeland, she'd like to get her Texas CHL. We're in Hurst, and can go pretty much anyplace in the metroplex for this, but she's not comfortable shooting at an indoor range. Any recommendations for a good class for women that ...

Re: Used CHL as a form of ID?

I got a US Passport Card (wallet size) for $30 that I can use as a second form of ID. From an entry to the US standpoint, it's only good for land/sea entry from Canada, Mexico, and (sea) Caribbean. I've got a regular passport book, but I don't like to carry it around unless I'm traveling.

Overcome by Stupid - A Cautionary Tale

A couple of years ago, while wandering through the world's largest gun show, I noticed a used Springfield Armory full-sized 1911 for sale for what I thought was a pretty good price, $700. It had the beavertail grip safety, ambidextrous thumb safety, skeletonized hammer & trigger, and ramped sights ...

I would think not. If so, the Ace Hardware near me creates an issue...they have a PO center inside the building, and a big beautiful sign on the front door stating that they not only authorize, but encourage and welcome legal concealed carry on the premises!

Re: nerd on bicycle packin heat ...

My wife's LCP fits nicely in the saddle bag I bought for the purpose. Yeah, hanging from the seat of my Specialized Rockhopper isn't the same as on-body, but it's better than nothing...

Re: Dallas Autoshow/Convention Center...30.06?

I'm taking the family on Friday, all the way from my home here in southeastern Oklahoma. Planning to park in Plano and ride the DART train down, and I'd hate to get all the way there only to find I have to get right back on the train.
