Re: Changing Micro/Pocket Guns

I think you will like both very much. I have owned a PM9 with nite sights now for a about 1.5 years and have never had an issue with it except while using the extra supplied 7 round magazine that now just sits on a book shelf. Use the standard 6 round magazines and they will run great. Have fired ma...

Re: I need a safe

You are going to be hard pressed to find a gun safe that holds 30-40 rifles that has a steel thickness of 10 gauge or thicker for 2k. The only options at that price is used,or import Chinese of unknown quality,or up the price. In late 2009 I bought an American made American Security BF 66x36 and pai...

Re: Winchester Ranger 19 Safe?

I dont have any experience with that particular gun safe but I did right at two years research before I spent a major wad of money for my gun safe. That is not a bad gun safe unless you are trying to keep three times it's value in firearms and assorted things in it. The most important thing you can ...

Re: Stolen Guns

This is indeed a great loss. I hope he had a rider on his insurance policy that will cover the finacial loss if they are not recovered. I too would like to know as many details of the make and model of gun safe and if was bolted down or not. Also was this a tool attack(power saws, etc.) or a pry atta...

Re: Recent Changes in CHL / Deferred Adjudication

I have never been arrested of any crime, but do wonder, when we, as a civilization, are going to allow people who have served their time for the crime, rest? We expect inmates to do the time, but when they are set free, we still hanbdcuff them with the crime for the rest of their lives. Why did we ...

Re: My Daughter Was Mugged

First I am very happy your daughter was not harmed physically. And I am quite sure this is one lesson she will not long forget. And hopefully this will be a lesson for others who read about this crminal assault. This very type of robbery happens with great regularity here in Houston and greater Harr...

Re: Your Experience with CHL and Traffic Stop ...

Maybe I am out of the loop or something but are we suppose to carry some type of registration in the vehicle and provide it to LEO when asked? I get that piece of paper when I renew my sticker every year but I don't keep it in the car/truck. To my knowledge only someone operating a commercial truck...

Re: Your Experience with CHL and Traffic Stop ...

10-44 is the ten code, in this area at least, for a CHL. What part of West Texas were you in? Out here, in our part of West Texas, if your not in a town they usually give you 5 to 10 over the speed limit before initiating contact. Actually I was coming back from viewing the horribly burned out area...

Re: Your Experience with CHL and Traffic Stop ...

Well I had my first stop this past Thursday in west Texas. Was cruising along and I could clearly see the county Sheriff's 4x4 SUV on the side of the road and when I passed the lights lit up. I was pretty puzzled but since I was in rent car I thought perhaps a tail light was out or something along t...

Re: Thinking about Riding Greyhound

I just this very morning rented a Toyota Yaris that will get close to 40 mpg and the car will cost me $203.00 for a week of use for my vacation next week that will have me roaming around the expanse of Texas. And you can be sure I will have my daily carry with me. $200 for a week? I checked with En...

Re: Thinking about Riding Greyhound

Rent a car and be done with it. It's about more than your CHL, It's also about $4.00+/gallon gasoline being consumed in your POV at one gallon every 15 (+/-) miles. :eek6 It sounds kinda' fun, if the boogies don't get you. I just this very morning rented a Toyota Yaris that will get close to 40 mpg...

Re: Bolting a safe to the floor?

It is absolutely essential that the safe be bolted down. A lot of lower end gun safes can be defeated by a pry attack due to little to no plate steel in the door along with thin 12 gauge steel used for the body so if the perp(s) can lay the safe on it's back they can get some very good leverage on t...

Re: Replacing electronic lock with dial lock

PBWALKER,yes a group II dial lock will fit your Cannon. When I mentioned group II that is the UL designated rated dial locks and the UL rating for electronic locks is group I. Why Cannon has started only using these locks is a mystery to me because three years ago the dial was standard and the elect...

Re: Replacing electronic lock with dial lock

Yes Middle Age Russ the door backing must be removed to get access to the lock. I know of a guy that has an older Liberty Lincoln that replaced his electronic lock with an S&G dial and I believe Liberty sent him some helpful info on how to do it. I personally would gladly spend $150.00 to a safe...

Re: Replacing electronic lock with dial lock

If it is a UL rated Group II lock then it will have the very same footprint as a Group II dial lock. A safe a vault locksmith can get it done relatively easy. I commend you for changing it to a dial lock because I positively can gurantee that electronic lock would sooner or later fail and to have yo...
