I think it is a heck of deal. I have one and paid more for it - and it was only the gun.

Re: How Liberalism Ruins Black Lives in America

I'd like to respond on several levels. As a retiree since 2012, I can say that I'm busier now than when I had a job and feel a lot more useful. I went from a job in my former company in 2002 where I spoke to my manager once every six months and was left on my own to accomplish my objectives in betwe...

Re: NRA Hammered on Fox

I dare say that no NRA members waver in their support of the NRA. However, their support of Wayne LaPierre is not the same thing. I for one do not know what to think. But if even half the allegations against LaPierre are true, our contributions to the NRA have not all been spent for the purpose the...

Re: Questionable Search on Live PD.

The 4th wasn't violated as he had consent. Here is the dilemma for the average citizen. We are led to believe that an officer has authority to do as he wishes in a roadside stop. There have been extremists who filmed themselves resisting officers, sometimes lawfully, on the roadside who ended up wi...

Re: Wisdom from Robert Heinlein

"Starship Troopers" was also the book that advocated service to obtain citizenship, only then could you vote or hold public office. Something to think about. I love Heinlein. I just finished reading the Kurt Schlicter trilogy (so far - another coming) that started with "People's Republic". He picke...

Re: OK: Robbery spree nets three robbers, one homeowner in jail

Cook said that he heard what sounded like gunshots being fired toward officers, so he got his gun. However, officials say there have been no reports of gunshots that night besides when Cook fired his weapon. If the home owner turned into a vigilante, that could be a reason for the charges. It is al...

Re: NRA Hammered on Fox

Foxnews is moving leftward since Murdoch's progressive son took over. Eventually "fair and balanced" is going to end up as fake as CNN. I have noticed this also and thought the same reason. :iagree: It was bad enough when they hired Marie Harf and Jessica Tarlov. Now that they have Donna Brazile, t...

Re: Wisdom from Robert Heinlein

Like you, I read Heinlein's books in my youth (a long time ago). I guess that I was so naive that I never picked up on his support for gun rights in them. I was reading for the pure enjoyment as I did Asimov's writings.

Re: TX: Losing UT Profs won't talk about campus carry

it would be interesting to contact the TWU sociology professor whose Time article claimed that she and her peers would have to give all students "A"s because of the intimidation by armed students. I suspect that, if she is still even teaching, she would be another "no comment type. It is a huge fail...

Re: Real Meaning of the Second Amendment

I've tried to have some of those conversations with anti-gun people. I've concluded that it is not possible to do that. They "know" the facts that they use and everything else is gun lobby propaganda. Particularly the discussion of schools as gun free zones is DOA. My typical strategy is to contrast...

Re: Did anti texting and driving laws reduce accidents?

It’s only anecdotal, but none of the LEOs I’ve spoken with about the law have even written a single ticket for it. There are so many loopholes, it’s almost unenforceable. I suspect that this problem (being almost unenforceable) covers other distracted driving issues. As others have said, I give my ...

Re: Medicare- The Health Care Standard Everyone Should Have

Looks like I may be the odd man out on this so I'll share my experience. I'm on an advantage plan through Aetna. My premiums are ridiculously low (pubic forum, not sharing here). I had a multi-day hospital stay in 2017 that cost me a couple of hundred dollars. My drugs (4) are all classed as Tier 1 ...
