Moms against guns go after Cabelas for gun background check "loophole" at Charleston SC.
Wasn't the problem with the vaunted government that they are looking to to protect us all?

Sure, but when have the facts ever mattered to the moms?
Fortunately, petitions matter about as much as facts matter to the moms looking for action.

Dylan Roof background check flaw allowed him to buy the gun. FBI held up his purchase, but then failed to pursue with in the three days so Dylan was able to come back and purchase the gun despite his admission of substance abuse.

So does the buck still stop with the president. Or does he get another pass.
No buck has ever stopped with this president, or anyone in his administration for that matter.

Re: Church shooting Charleston SC

This is what TPTB in the GOP think of us:
Now maybe there’s some magic law that will keep us from having more of these. I mean basically the only way to guarantee that we will dramatically reduce acts of violence involving guns is to basically remove guns from society, and until somebody gets enough “oomph” to repeal the Second Amendment, that’s not going to happen.
Karl Rove

Oh, that's right, I forgot, the GOP will save us. "rlol"

Clair Wolfe on the shooting:
I’m saying I’m not going to address the bloody deeds of that arrogant cretin or the demands of his blood-dancing fan club. (And make no mistake, the Obamas, Bloombergs, Kings, Schumers, Feinsteins, and Wattses of the world are his fan club, since he and his fellow murderers enable everything they dream of imposing on the world.)

I’m not going to address him or them because they don’t matter.

Our freedom to own firearms and to protect ourselves, our families, and our communities stands beyond them all.

Pass a law demanding we submit to universal background checks? We will flout it.

Pass a law demanding that we turn in our standard-capacity magazines? Make us obey.

Pass a law insisting that we register whatever you consider the politically unpopular weapon of the moment? Come and find them.

Pass a law attempting to make the Second Amendment more conditional than it already is? We’ll laugh. Because we don’t get our freedom from any piece of paper and we won’t surrender any more of our freedom for some piece of paper, either.

That would have been good idea in this case.

And doesn't have any constitutional issues.

No, that's not what they're looking for....they're identifying internal political opposition. Either that or they keep revealing their incompetence.

I totally agree.

What I still find interesting that after all these days the press still discusses gun control and the confederate flag but at the same time fails to mention, the drugs he was taking and the fact guns were illegal in that church.

People who get their news only from the T V will be forever clueless about these facts.
Not a mystery.....it's driven by two factors, the political agenda and money. You're never going to see the MSM take on the ramifications of prescription drug use because of the money. If illegal or non-prescription drugs are a factor you won't see them take it on because it doesn't serve the agenda.

Dylann Roof Reportedly Almost Didn't Go Through With Church Shooting Because 'Everyone Was So Nice To Him'

The comments are ...... Scary
Indeed, the comments are scary. The feeling there seems to be so based on gut reaction that only the trolls are able to call up actual facts to support a reasoned debate. History is not just being re-written, but re-invented. Fox News has become Satan himself, and anyone who has ever held a view expressed there is a minor demon to be eradicated. "Foaming at the mouth" is an appropriate description of many of those making comments. I do believe the Progressive Ministry of Dis-Information has been far more effective than I could ever be comfortable with.
I stopped reading comments at sites like HuffPo and Daily KOS awhile back.....but if you read the comments at sites like those regularly it becomes very clear that many want to see their political opposition rounded up and caged and/or killed. Before the current POTUS I used to read articles and comments on these sites regularly but don't recall seeing the same volume of open hatred and blood lust. Under the current administration many on the left seem to have been emboldened and now feel free to express their innermost desires.

I stopped paying attention because this bunch largely resides in an echo chamber and is comically divorced from reality. None of them seem to grasp the concept that the people who'd have to do the rounding up and killing are more like their enemies than themselves and unlikely to do their bidding. The predominant characteristic of those on the left is having lived a sheltered life that insulates them from all unpleasant realities. They don't have military experience and don't work in occupations where reality cannot be denied so they have lived their entire lives in a cocoon of privilege and an ideological echo chamber. They are too far removed from reality to realize that when the bell tolls, it will also toll for "thee."

Supposedly the gun was a birthday gift from his father.....see where that's going?
Oh, I sure do. I've heard both possibilities - and if Dad did indeed bought a gun for someone who was under investigation, he's in a world of hurt.
This article says that birthday narrative is misleading: http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2015/06 ... -it-video/
Justin Meek, a friend of Charleston shooter Dylann Storm Roof, spoke with Greta Van Susteren tonight. He told Greta that Dyllan took the gun from his mother that he used in the mass murder. He said Dyllan’s mom didn’t trust him with it so she took it away.

No one in their right mind loves massacres, or the loss of innocent life. No one on this Forum that I know of loves massacres or the loss of innocent life. We all care greatly for each life around us, and choose to protect those lives as we can with the tools available to us, including locks on our doors, alarms, our pet dogs, knives, guns, table lamps or whatever else may help us prevail over an imminent threat. To us, it is the height of lunacy to assume that violence will never come our way (even in a church, as this most current event illustrates) and therefore not be prepared to face it if it ever does. Each of us prays that we are never forced to face a violent attacker, but we also pray that we are prepared and able to stop the attack if it occurs. I pray also that you and your family similarly never come face-to-face with an attacker -- I fear that your un-thinking vitriol will hold them at bay but a short while.

The key is the phase no one in their right mind. I submit to you that the left and people like this Mike are not in their right mind....as evidenced by what he posted. I also think he made it pretty clear that he wants more murders like this one to occur in order to advance his agenda. Mike and his ilk WANT people to be defenseless....there is no other possible interpretation of their advocacy....not even ignorance or stupidity.

Most information so far. Wearing former white separatist country flags on his jacket.
Received .45 cal gun for birthday.
Supposedly reloaded 5 times. Probably with standard 45 mags. Guess 7 and 8 round mags are "high capacity" now.

Some people just can't figure it out.

You guys are way too generous. They know perfectly well, and not only do they not care, events like this are exactly what they want to happen. They WANT the plebes to be defenseless. They DON'T intend any restrictions to apply to THEMSELVES. By the way, you can bet that being on CNN, the question was asked for the express purpose of advocating gun control, knowing what the answer would be, and that it would NOT be allowing more carry. IOW, it was a setup.
