An LEO can never totally relax just because the probabilities are low. All it takes is one nutcase -- CHL or not -- to shoot you and that creates a bad day.

I am personally aware of at least one LEO that was shot and killed by a CHL during a traffic stop in Ohio about 2008 or so.

It might also prove useful in an effort to move CHL's from TPC §46.15(b) to 46.15(a).

A variation on the theme, "better to have ammo and not need it, than to need it and not have it". Especially if getting the information takes months.
