Re: Getting the McDonald decision in almost real-time...

I understand "reversed", but what is the significance of "remanded"? That almost sounds as if they're sending the case back to the Seventh(?) to "correct their error". I read the synopsis and saved the file for later study, if ambition suddenly sets in. Exactly so. The...

Re: Woman attacked while jogging in Houston

Actually, this incident occurred in a "good, safe" neighborhood in one of the suburbs north of Houston, not far from where I live. It is one of several incidents that have occurred recently in this general area, including bank robberies, assault & battery combined with robbery, and arm...

Re: Future of Firearms

I'd like to see something along the lines of the Metalstorm project. It uses electronic ignition and has multiple projectiles per barrel. The prototype pistol I saw had four barrels grouped together to form the top section of the pistol. I'm not sure, but I think they had 8 projectiles per barrel. R...

Re: First Time to Pull My Gun

Wow, great story pdubyoo, I haven't used a Maglite in years since the high intensity stuff came out in really small packages, but I may have to rethink that even though I get more light from them (we're plagued with skunks and I use it to scan for them even though my dog seems immune to the spray :...

Re: Rights on your property when you are Renting it out.

Can you could get a Deputy or other LEO to accompany you while posting the eviction notices? I know you USED to be able to, but can you still? I dated an apartment manager several years ago that did this on a pretty regular basis for evictions (of course, it may have just been a volunteer service no...

Re: Attempted Car-jack

I would have lobbed some flash-bangs and some tear gas into the other truck to soften them up, before deploying my door ram and crushing open the door of their vehicle, preparatory to a full on ninja assault in which I dress in black, and rappel down from the roof of their cab and through the shatt...

Re: Strange Vibrations

If you leave the Blackberry in vibrate mode long enough, you will start getting phantom vibrations even when you aren't wearing it. I had them for about 9 months after I stopped carrying a Blackberry and started using a pocket-able phone instead.

Re: Insurgents Hack Video Feed for Drones

This is the transparency that the Obamessiah promised. Its amazingly easy to blame Obama for this, but this problem goes back almost 20 years and through three (perhaps even four) administrations. The fact is, our military leaders have known about this since the Bosnian war back in the 1992-1995 ti...

Re: THE SWISS MILITIA

To the contrary, Muslims are being singled out: the new law doesn't say anything about "no new church steeples", it says "no new minarets". Ah, but the Christians are also restrained from building new minarets. The Muslims are not being singled out, only a single architectural f...

Re: Another newbie legal type question

What legal authority does the lady by the exit have to search you? What legal authority does the Store Manager have to search you? What legal authority does store security have to search you? Tell them "No". They aren't law enforcement and don't have a warrant or probable cause. If they wa...

Re: The right to line dry

This is actually a topic of discussion in our home. When I was growing up, we line dried many things because we thought it was expensive to run the dryer. (Lined dried clothing also lasts longer.) Mars, on the other hand, came from a family that never did such a thing. In our previous house, he rem...

Text from an email I received from Holsterama.com Gov. Schwarzenegger signs CA ammo-regulation bill People buying ammunition in California will soon have to be thumbprinted and dealers will have to keep records of sales. After vetoing similar bills three times since 2004, Schwarzenegger signed AB96...

Re: For The Ballistic Gurus A ?

I'll use the formula thanks. USA I see your point but the 158 grn is the big heavy bullet for the 357 but it's quicker the a small bullet for the 44 mag in 210 grn? Heavier=slower. Heavier is a relative term. Neither bullet is particularly heavy when compared to an automobile, but relative to each ...
