Re: You'll Love What DPS in Palo Pinto County is Doing!!
57Coastie, thanks for making that more clear to me. :txflag: gigag04, forgive me for being a bit prickly. It had been a long day. Surely you can see how your comment (and tex's followup clarification) could be construed as condescending. It would only be fair turn-around to point out that you stretc...

So it's childish to attempt to stand for your rights and principles? I must have missed the memo.talltex wrote:a long drawn out version of the word "Mom"....like a child would use when he wanted her to come make somebody play fair....sjfcontrol wrote:Moooooooooom?

Re: You'll Love What DPS in Palo Pinto County is Doing!!
My understanding is that without probably cause, it's an illegal search.

Re: You'll Love What DPS in Palo Pinto County is Doing!!
I'd ask under what pretense or probable cause are they conducting an illegal search? And then I'd make sure to get the badge number of the officer I dealt with and tell them to expect a letter from my lawyer.

Re: Photograpgers discuss the merits of carrying at photo sh
We've had family photos done with my wife and son when he was newborn, 6 months, 12 months, and 18 months. The newborn shots were done at our photographer's home studio; however the remainder were all done "on location" around the city. For whatever reason, it seems like the places she lik...

Re: 9 mm 1911's
The only 1911 I have in 9mm is my EMP. It's a great gun, and the slight dimension changes to the frame make it fit my hand better than my full size 1911s. Like the earlier poster, I had issues with SD ammo, but a ramp polish and good break-in took care of those issues. Now it goes all day on all typ...

Re: Texas A&M Parking lots
Funny thing, at the TTUHSC campus in Lubbock, there is a 30.06 notice at one of the entrances to the parking lot. At the other side of the lot, there is a 30.06 notice actually posted on a city street that runs through campus :confused5 . I carry right on through and leave it secured in the vehicle....

Re: need some Kahr PM9/CM9 opinions
I do really enjoy my CM9. It has been my go-to for concealed carry for a while, and it was only recently put second in the rotation to my XDs. It's simple, small, and lightweight. Kahr's have great DA triggers, and it's an accurate little gun. I added a Hogue Handall Jr, and it made a significant di...

Re: Looking at these ear muffs... opinions?
I need to double up when I head to the indoor range. Anyone have any tips to protect my sinuses from the guy firing massive .357 magnum revolver in the lane to my right? :fire :biggrinjester: Last time I was there, it seemed like every time he pulled the trigger, I felt it behind my nose and in my f...

Re: diy kydex??
I agree 100% with ARblitz. I have used a scroll saw in the past as well, but now I only use the band saw. The scroll saw works ok on flat pieces that you can really press to the table, but after you've shaped it, it can be very choppy as you can't keep it flat.

Re: Looking at 9mm compact
My two favorite compact 9mm's: Springfield EMP and Kahr CM9. Love both of these guns. The Kahr is super compact and light and carries VERY well. The EMP is the most accurate small gun I've ever owned and is a joy to shoot.

Re: New Carry
I hear you. Luckily I was able to plan it out in advance, but I've had plenty of times that I wouldn't have been able to fit a case in my checked bags. One great thing about SW is that the first two checked bags fly free. So, if I didn't have room in the suitcase, I could always buy a cheapo duffle ...

Re: New Carry
If I'm flying, I make sure to lock up the pistol case in my checked luggage (TSA lock on the luggage, MY locks on the gun case) rather than send it through by itself.

Re: New Carry
The whole reason to declare is so that TSA knows that there is a firearm and does not have to access the case. TSA regs say that if there is a case that alarms and is NOT marked with a declaration card, they will cut the locks to gain access. SWA's page, which is based on TSA information, states tha...

Re: Illegal to use a cane as a weapon??
Swords, (non pocket) knives, daggers, nunchaku, eskrima (sticks), etc. are all illegal weapons and cannot be carried. I guess it depends on where you're at. In most places, there is nothing illegal about carrying fixed-blade knives in Texas unless they are throwing, dirk, dagger, bowie, double-edge...
