Re: Bullet Trap

Darn, looks like I need to take a day off next week just to get some practice in. That's a real shame. :biggrinjester: Tiger Valley is having a pistol trigger control class next Tue-Jul-10 from 6:30-9pm at Elm Fork. It costs $65 and you'll need 200rds and a holster. I took that class this earlier t...

Re: Bullet Trap

I've been to Bullet Trap several times and I've noticed that what I'm asked is highly dependent on who's helping me. I'm always asked for my TXDL to hold the lane. On one or two occasions I was asked about steel cases, on another whether I'm using bullets with exposed lead but for the most part I'm...

Re: Bullet Trap

I took my son there today to practice for cowboy action this weakend. The kid says do you have any exposed lead? I said lead semi wadcutters. He says no lead. I said your crazy and left. I shot the same stuff there a few weaks ago. All I shoot is lead. I guess I have no use for that place. :mad5 BS...

Re: Austin COTA (Circuit of the Americas) - Who's a race fan

I would love to go to an F1 race, but not at those prices.

Until then, I'll stick w/ watching NASA and PCA/BMWCCA club races at MSR-Cresson.

Re: Interesting article about .223/5.56 caliber in military

The .223/5.56 FMJ wounding mechanism is through tumbling and fragmentation. The fragmentation threshold is 2600fps. Anything less than that and you'll get inconsistent results. Google "m855 fleet yaw" You guys should check out the ballistics forum on m4carbine.net. DocGKR has done all the ballistics...

Re: First AR-15, Upgrades?

That said- unlike a glock for example that needs to stay relatively dry (lube free except a drop on each rail) the AR platform preforms best running wet. Look on youtube for vids on proper cleaning and tear-down so you'll know how to care for your gun. It may sound like a dumb question...but why do...

Re: First AR-15, Upgrades?

Hi everyone! I just bought my first rifle yesterday at the Houston Gun Show! I got a RRA Elite Operator 2 AR-15! It had everything I wanted on it...quad rail, complete rear and front sights, etc. I don't plan on modifying it anytime soon...But I just want to know since this is my first AR...what up...

Re: Anyone use Sean Cody for a Trust?

Sean did my trust about a month ago. His price was higher than a local gun trust attorney, but he was the first to respond to my e-mail inquiry. He called me and spent a great deal of time to answer all of my questions and just shoot the breeze. I promised to give him a call when I was ready for a t...

Re: Moving to Dallas..a few confirmations

Elm Fork shooting range allows FMJ at the 50yd range, but not at the 100yd range.

Top Gun Shooting Club allows FMJ, IIRC.

Welcome to Dallas. I used to fly into Cleveland when my g/f was in school in Erie.

Re: The Walking Dead!

This show be on Lifetime and not AMC. Too much drama involved for surving a zombie apocalypse.
