Question on Status

I put my stuff in the mail 7/30/2012. I then logged on to the Concealed Handgun Licensing website to be sure I could get logged on. Here is what I saw: Application : Received Fingerprints : Under review Affidavits : Received DL or ID : Valid Citizenship : No documentation required Passport photo hol...

Re: Just.... Waiting....

I put mine in the mail on 7/30 and the website finally showed a change on 8/10. Almost two weeks. Hang on a sec ... Nope. Just checked. No change. Hey you guys. Quite calling them. They're too busy talking on the phone to process apps. Just checked again. Nadda. OK, so who all has their DL...

Re: What's the Origin of Your User Name?

There was a TV series back in the early 1980s called, Filthy Rich . Slim Pickens played a character named Big Guy Beck. Actually his character was dead, and only make appearances by video with some new demand for those hoping to inherit his wealth. Any way, my lovely little wife started calling me B...

Mind set for new CHL

I grew up in southeast Arkansas and thought of guns as tools, not terribly different from fishing poles, frog gigs, or pocket knifes. They brought meat from the woods to the freezer. For the first 4 decades of my life I was taught that you don't point a gun at a human being for ANY reason. I just gr...

Re: Caution in criticizing folks gun choice

A guy on one of my motorcycle forums patiently explained (tongue in cheek) that anybody with a bike smaller than his was a sissy little weeny and anybody with a bike bigger than his is an egotistical megalomaniac. :rules:

Re: Caution in criticizing folks gun choice

I found it interesting that the .380 did as well as it did. The 16% that did not stop was better than the .38 Sp -17%l, and not terribly worse than the 9MM - 13%, the .40 - 13%. and the .45 - 14%. The .357 Magnum did best - 9%. But the little .380 did better than any of the other calibers in the % s...

Re: In chamber or no?

A gun without a round in the chamber is actually a very short club. There was a warning about no booger hook required on the bang button on another forum. http://pistol-forum.com/showthread.php?5012-No-Booger-Hook-Required-(mildly-NSFW) It seems those plastic drawstring adjusters are good at finding...

NO!!! NO NO!!! http://succeedwithsteveandsusie.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/not-listening-chimp-300x225.jpg I DON"T want to hear any of this. I'm sure the efficient and attentive government of the Great State of Texas will have my paper work processed in a timely manner with minimal delay. "rlol"

Howdy

:tiphat: Nice to meet other folks waiting impatiently. My wait is a little longer than it might have been. I put my stuff in the mail July 30th. It just went to Background Check Under Review today. (8/10/2012) I actually took the class June 16. I had filed the app on line a couple of weeks earlier a...
