Re: Lonestar Armory Run and Gun (Biathlon)

The saturday morning runners, it did not matter when you started you got rained on. I started at 1:35 and finished at 17:11 of that time they subtract wait and shoot time which was 135 minutes. I took an hour and a half to "run it". There were alot of up and down hills. So the distance was effective...

Re: Tritium Sights - How Effective?

Lights hand the hidden attacker your position and blind you to everything not in the lights beam. A headlight would be suicidal and eliminate any night vision, forget loosing the sights post-shoot this is worse. To get a feel for the advantage and limitation of tritium sights try using your sights o...

Re: Tritium Sights - How Effective?

Tritium are very effective in dim lighting especially against a dark background. Otherwise you have a difficult time lining up your sights. I did a low light match and it really made a difference. The dark unlit sights compared to tritium inserts is substantial. At minimum have tritium in the front ...

Re: Lonestar Armory Run and Gun (Biathlon)

I am on the 2 pm heat. I just did some regular jogging of about 3.5 miles so you are doing better than I was since I did not have a pack. I plan to conduct jogging with weights till the event.

Re: Lonestar Armory Run and Gun (Biathlon)

Last time I ran it all the stages were 180 sec, it is detailed in their course of fire on the website. The Lonestar has not defined it yet. The Waco TF, have generally topped off mags while running/moving between stages, sometimes during a wait.

Re: Lonestar Armory Run and Gun (Biathlon)

You can use a backpack, I use a camelbak to carry spare ammo to refill mags, but it makes it tough to get a new mag to finish a stage. The Waco event were 180 sec max so time digging in a backpack makes it difficult to complete the stage. Check out the photos from the 1st Waco event or the other pho...

Re: Lonestar Armory Run and Gun (Biathlon)

I registered for the Cresson event and have run the Waco Tactical Fitness (since the abbr does not pass muster)and Zombie Destruction a couple of times. I would recommend practicing some non-conventional shooting positions and conditions, they tend to turn-up in the biathlons. Knowing your ranging a...

Re: Glock 19 jam issue

Chipped extractor can occur from placing round in chamber and closing slide. It is best to chamber via the mag, so the extractor does not have to jump over the base rim while slide closes.

Re: Hearing Protection Act of 2017

It may take a while to be legal in some states. That would help limit the demand a bit.
