Airline Travel With Handgun to CA

I have done the airline transport of a handgun before but have never flown into CA with one. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with flying into San Diego with a handgun. I have an extended trip upcoming and plan to bring a Glock with me. I know the CA issues of transport and the requireme...

Re: Trying my hand at .380 Auto

I use 3.2 gr of W231 with 100 grain Berry or Xtreme bullets. I have found the shorter OALs worked best.

Re: CHL concerns driving through NM and AZ

No loaded magazines in the vehicle traveling in CA, so you need to unload the mags.

Re: Semi-Autos or Revolvers for In-Car Defense

It was mentioned above the disadvantage of a semiauto in a clinch due to getting it out of battery (due to being pressed against opponent) and unable to fire. The revolver has a similar issue, if the opponent has a grip on the cylinder which prevents rotation of the cylinder not allowing it to fire....

Re: RCBS Press replacement part Question

You are going to find that is the most expensive free item.

If you get RCBS X-dies the 556 cases will not strech and not have to be trimmed (though the instructions recommend a first time trim). I recomend the Imperial die was for lube a small tin last for a very long time.

Re: Noob questions about bullets

Your 4.1 should be a rather good moderate starting load.

My standard 9mm is a 115 gr Berry (plated bullet) with 4.5 gr.Titegroup and achieves 1160 fps from a G17.

Re: Maybe going Glock

You do not have to worry about finishing low in the A category and missing out on prizes. GSSF is now awarding prizes based upon random assignment of the prizes after the top 10 in the category if sufficient entries. So go and enjoy GSSF and don't worry. GSSF also has a Girl's Side Match for the spo...

Re: Glock Decisions

If you want a G22 you have more options at lower prices than the GSSF coupon. There are a lot of G22 3rd gen police trade-ins available for $360sh. Summit Gun broker had a sale a couple of months ago, may still be on. If you have to use the ticket the G19 but don't mix up the mags with your G23. The...

Re: .357 question

I would recommend the 125 grain loads for personnel/defensive usage and the 158 for hunting applications.

maximus2161 Not hurting my feelings, its all about what you find comfortable with both in carry comfort and usability. I just commented upon it is common for people to carry and think they are good to go in a conflict situation when they truly are not. The firearm is important but just having it doe...

Re: Are you a carry novice? Here is a story for you.

If off body carry works for you, great, but before you think you've solved all your problems. I would suggest trying your carry method in a force on force test. (Airsoft is great for this.) You may find it is very difficult to access your weapon while aggressively moving to minimize exposure to an a...

Re: Load data for 9mm 124gr Copper plated

I have used 4.2 grains of Titegroup with the 124 gr Berry and it gets 1100 fps in Glock17/19. Your mileage may vary, so use proper technique and start at lower powder charge weights and work up.
