Carry at work, but only if...

Hypothetical situation - your workplace has a "no guns" policy in their handbook, and 30.06/30.07 signs posted at each door. However, they decide to let LTC holders carry at work if they meet certain requirements. What would you be willing to accept in order to carry while at work, if you couldn't o...

Re: Instructor proficiency - LTC-8?

I'll give it a week and if my online status hasn't changed (i.e. still says waiting for proficiency), I'll call them again.

Related - I was pleasantly surprised that when I called the first time - around noon - the wait time was only four minutes.

Re: Instructor proficiency - LTC-8?

I had a mix up on the LTC-8 I submitted, so I called DPS about sending in a corrected form. They told me that in this instance - an instructor renewal proficiency - we do not have to submit the LTC-8. The instructor only has to submit the LTC-100 for themselves.

Used wrong number on LTC-8

I recently finished an instructor renewal proficiency with a friend who is also an instructor, and submitted my LTC-8 for him. After I submitted it, he let me know that he had given me the wrong number - the LTC-8 requires a DL number, but he gave me his LTC number by mistake, which I used on the LT...

Instructor proficiency - LTC-8?

Me and a friend of mine who, is also an LTC instructor, shot our renewal proficiency together yesterday and signed each other's LTC-100. Do we each have to submit an LTC-8 as well, or just send in the LTC-100?

Re: Is Dallas Trade Mart / Market Hall 30.06 Posted?

The mention of 30.06 signs at a gun show were much earlier in the thread than my recent experience - over a year ago I think. While 30.06 signs are a common sight at gun shows, I wasn't at a gun show this past weekend, and didn't see any 30.06 signs.

Re: Is Dallas Trade Mart / Market Hall 30.06 Posted?

Went to Market Hall on Saturday - they had a separate line for paying admission with credit cards that entered through one of the dock doors. On the way in, we did not see any signs - 30.06 or 30.07. On the way out, I happened to turn around and there was a 30.07 on the door we entered through, but ...

My wife is considering a new pistol, and plans to start looking by trying out the ones listed in that article.

Re: Is Dallas Trade Mart / Market Hall 30.06 Posted?

This thread is a few years old and I'm hoping for a more recent update. I saw some other threads related to last year's gun show but they contained conflicting statements about whether there were valid 30.06 or 30.07 signs. I checked texasa30.06.com and Market Hall is listed for 30.07, but not 30.06...

Re: Today in Trump's new term as President

Sorry, I've been foaming for awhile looking at what Trump is doing. As one of his earliest supporters, engaged in some heated debates here there and everywhere supporting him, I'm getting to a point of being done with Trump. This "deal" with some of the most fanatic leftists around Shumer and Pelos...

Re: Reloading While Shooting Question

For me, it's always over the top for several reasons: * It's the same movement used to rack the slide when first charging the weapon. * It's the same movement used for clearing certain malfunctions. * It's much easier than trying to hit the small slide lock lever. * I was taught that it is a slide l...

Good point. I meant to include "if this happened in Texas" but forgot.

For all of us arm-chair lawyers: Texas Penal Code - PENAL § 46.13. Making a Firearm Accessible to a Child ... (b)A person commits an offense if a child gains access to a readily dischargeable firearm and the person with criminal negligence: ... (2)left the firearm in a place to which the person knew...
