Re: Instructor Renewal

I really do not think there are very many Instructors that would short another instructor to reduce the number. If you actively teach you should know many that would be fair. I don't even see another instructor charging an instructor for witnessing proficiency. I may be naïve, since I just took the ...

Re: Instructor Renewal

If you want to go the way of NRA instruction then you will have satisfied the Instructor requirement for the TEXAS CHL instructor certification. BUT you are NOT required to satisfy the TEXAS CHL instructor certification through the NRA.

Re: Instructor Renewal

You said: My opinion, no way they will make all of us go to Austin. They already have in place a procedure to allow instructors to qualify other instructors. Why would they want to haul all of us back there if they don't have to? Apparently, they can do what they want. After all, they ignored the N...

When I asked what they were doing I was told that it was to measure exact distance between the pupils for facial recognition.

Re: Use driver's license photo?

Your DL photo will be used even for first time CHL. Now a photo is only needed if the applicant is a non-resident or the licensing folks deem the DL photo unacceptable.

Re: Qualification w/40 rounds?

If the middle is shot out then the count would go to the shooter, that has not changed. Therefore the middle must not have been shot out if only 40 shots could be counted.

Re: Qualification w/40 rounds?

Re: Any invitations for a June CHL instructor class yet?

Just got home from June 3-7 Instructor course. The DPS range was really nice and impressive, the turning targets did not seem to present any problems, in fact I liked them better than a noise maker. We were told that DPS cannot make any changes until all laws effecting CHL have been signed or vetoed...

Re: Qualification w/40 rounds?

The CHL proficiency exam is a 50-round course of fire. That, however, does NOT mean each and every student will fire all 50 rounds. There can be any number of reasons (as I implied above) why a student may not get off all 50 rounds. Running out of time, and firearm malfunction are two. The purpose ...
