Re: Fat Guy Carry...

Ohh yeah owb is more comfortable to me. I use a fobus for the .380 and and .40 and also a belt slide holster for each of those too. The belt slide keeps the gun snug against the body and conceals a little better. The fobus are both paddles which allows you to navigate position regardless of belt loo...

Re: Fat Guy Carry...

I like options. I prefer owb with an untucked shirt. When I can’t do that I carry a Berretta Pico in the front pocket. I can conceal a “big” gun iwb at 4 o’clock comfortably, as well. Sure I’m gonna feel it sometimes. In all cases I carry a spare mag in a horizontal knife case owb on the weak side. ...

Re: QUALS FOR LEOSA for retired military

I just did the Firearm Proficiency with these guys last November. I had retired city and federal guys in my class with me. If you're near San Antonio this is an easy, quick qualification. http://www.tac-safe.com/chl-san-antonio-concealed-handgun-san-antonio-texas-chl/law-enforcement-security-guard-t...

Re: Should I conceal carry a .22 pistol?

I'm late to the party and all the good information has already been said. However, my 2 cents worth is that yes, a .22 is better than nothing. And it may be fairly effective in warm seasons with less layers of clothing to penetrate. I carry a .380 when I need maximum concealment and they do not all ...

Re: First Time to Travel with a Checked Handgun

True, TSA is different at every airport, and even different between who the shift manager is. 1.5 hours seems entirely inappropriate and a complaint about the process may open some eyes that policy is not being followed correctly. A hand search of the entire bag when checking a firearm is not the pr...

Re: Two Way Radios For Our Church

I can't see how those cs100 radios are "no license required" unless they are simply programmed to GMRS frequencies and set to minimum power. If you DO have an fcc license for 1 or 3 channels hen that same license would be good for any replacement radios on the same frequencies. The radios you have m...

Re: A little Monday afternoon entertainment for you.

I always enjoy seeing Ted in an interview. He tells it like it is. I met the man once and he is exactly like he is on tv or on a stage. I went up to him and said I just wanna shake your hand, sir. He told me "brotha, sit down and chat with me a while!" Had a good 20 minute conversation with him. He ...

www.CDNNsports.com

I just got on their mailing list and they seem to have good prices. Flat fee shipping and free on large ammo orders. It's in Abilene but they do NOT have a storefront. I asked about local pickup and they said nope!

Re: Home Security Cameras.

I have both systems running concurrently. An older wired system with a dvr locked inside the air conditioning closet. It's not easy access and I Feel fairly sure it wouldn't be found by a thief. I also have an Arlo wireless system that duplicates the wired system and gives me mobile access and far s...

Re: Lost Handgun...

I lost a revolver in a car crash 4 years ago. It was months before I woke up and discovered DPS only returned one pistol and not the other. I spoke with the trooper and he had a sheriff's deputy file an incident report on the missing gun with S# and description so I have covered myself if it turns u...

Re: Dash Cam

Yes, I too ordered a $20 dash cam from Amazon over a year ago. 1080p, all the bells & whistles and swivels on the suction cup mount. Previously I'd bought a $14 model. It was ok, but difficult to operate and not near the video quality. I surmise that $20-30 is the quality point. Anything cheaper is ...

Re: Dilemma - Car breaks down on way to work

Personally, I'd tell the boss the truth and let him decide if he wants you to be late, not come in at all, or give authorization to bring it in. Maybe lock it in a locker or desk drawer or even let the boss lock it up. I've had a very similar scenario in the past. My boss was 110% by the book compan...

KA5YBX here. Licensed in 1985. Kinda slacked off on it in recent years but now I'm retired and have the time. However, now I'm nearly deaf so I'm going to concentrate on Digital modes. Packet has changed immensely since the 80's so I'm having to relearn the stuff. Been a Tech all this time but I thi...

Re: I just had a reality check

I too have had reality checks, only they weren't dreams. Take from it what you will. I lean towards preferring a heavier, faster round but I still carry a .380 several days a week. Better to carry something than nothing at all, I say. Several years ago I was in a huge, multi-agency manhunt. At least...
