Re: Texas Peace Officers Need to Reevaluate their ALERRT Training!

By the way, I don't passively seek cover and protect my butt if I'm not with people to protect. I' seeking the shooter to try and prevent carnage. So if somebody is shooting, you stay in the open? First time I've really heard that. Have you ever been involved in a shooting? Last place I personally ...

Re: Arms Room rant/inquiry on change of policy

I know of more "accidents " by LEOs than anyone else . Why don't you use the academys range? I take it that you assume everybody has an academy, and that everybody has a range. Quite the contrary. There are very few police academies, and very few ranges. I also can think of more negative things pos...

Re: Police confiscated my weapon

Evening all, Just providing a update. I hired a fantastic attorney and he worked hard to get my weapon released. Now the retaliation against me has immediately begun with the Seargent filing paperwork with the state to have my CHL revoked to which I will continue to fight for my right to legally ca...

Re: The Forum will be down for a software upgrade/migration

It took about 45 seconds for the previous comment to post. Ditto for me, and then I started getting this: Screen Shot 2015-10-28 at 11.30.35 AM.png I have been getting that about every 5th click on something. It's been extremely annoying, but none of them today, I guess that it's working better now?

Re: Should I carry or not?

The handbook does not mention in any way 30.06 (owner is probably unaware of 30.06). It was handed out after several years of employment but before I got my chl. It does say no guns even with chl. I think talking to him would result in "what does the handbook say?" and that would be the end of that...

Re: Arms Room rant/inquiry on change of policy

It's not always easy finding a range that is decent. I can say that I've gone to a few ranges, without my uniform top, and just wearing my duty belt with gear, expecting to be able to draw and shoot from my level III Serpa Blackhawk holster. Wrong. After being asked if I had "their" certificates, an...

Re: Some places aren't wasting any time on the 30.07 signs

Blaming a single entity or person demonstrates something else entirely and it ain't good. Coming to the defense of the person/entity that have caused Texas gun owners problems while issuing veiled insults to those who opposed those destructive tactics demonstrates much more. Don't do it again. Your...

Re: What's the Origin of Your User Name?

Some people call my charlie, and being a CHLer, I carry a gun as part of my contingency plan. Therefor, my CHL is part of "Charlies_Contingency," which I thought to be quite fitting.

Same here. They're pretty darn bold, and not scared of me, up until they see muzzle flash and a loud bang. :tiphat:

Re: Some places aren't wasting any time on the 30.07 signs

What is cruelly ironic is, neither 30.06 or 30.07 have any barring on the carry of long guns. It is still legal to carry those into businesses. They can be asked to leave and if they don't, they will face a trespassing charge, but the signs won't stop them from entering. XDgal A regular no firearms...

I would say you killed it, but your gun probably made you do it, so I forgive you.

Re: Some places aren't wasting any time on the 30.07 signs

The irony are some of posts that I have read here. Openly carried handguns are a complete new mode of carry for Texans and the businesses that operate in this state. Of course signs will appear now just as they did at the beginning of concealed carry and then so again once 30.06 arrived. Blaming a ...
