Re: How many acres needed for shooting?

OK, so you're saying that I'm not supposed to shoot cans with my BB gun in the back yard? Hopefully, my son's Nerf guns are still OK. As said by Hoorah - IF your municipality/city has passed an ordinance saying you cannot, then no. If I owned 100 acres inside any city I would have to be thinking ab...

Maybe it is just me but I still find the halal and kosher method of slaughter disturbing. I won't buy it or have it off a menu if it is so noted.

Supersonic will pretty much negate the suppressor. Subsonic is way quieter.

Agree - OWB. For my G43 and extra magazine I have a pair of belt slide units by Crossbreed. I wear it daily with no issues.

Re: Church Security Team help!!

Insurance and legal liability are always issues. But only to those who have survived a shooting. The first goal is to survive. Everything else is secondary. But it has to be a consideration. Our church insurance policy is $8k a year. We don't have the membership to either self insure or stand a rat...

Re: NRA National Meeting May 3-6 -- Anybody Worried?

Parking is an issue. Be aware of a few things in the area of the convention center. There are some individuals (homeless, or crackhead, or just slick - I don't know) that have scored name badges and/or shirts/jackets with parking company names. They stake out private lots or empty fields and collect...

Re: Houston - Looking for used shotguns for skeet and sporting clays

As suggested several times already, a Remington 1100. You can get them in good used condition for $350 to $450. I also don't recommend a pump - especially if that is your first shotgun and it will be only for clays games. Figure out how to shoot the various clays games, how the games are played per ...

Re: OK - graphic gunfight video, liquor store

I thought the revolver looked like a .38 snubby. The automatic looked like one of those little Beretta tilt-barrel pistols. I think that would mean .22, .25, or .32, but I don't know for sure. I think the mother only fired five rounds, but, Colt DS revolvers are six rounds. The daughter pulled what...

Re: OK - graphic gunfight video, liquor store

This is a perfect example of shoot until the threat is stopped and incapacitated. Glad the women were not seriously injured. Good thing when the mother and robber were wrestling and the daughter shot there was not a pass-through into the mother. Yep - she never have let the perp get back that close...

Re: Not watching the Superbowl

Not watching any NFL football! Two reasons, the protests, and that the NFL has lost touch with its fan base and now is catering to the younger, millennial crowd in everything they do. Business is business I guess, but I will spent my dollars elsewhere.

Re: Self driving vehicles creep me out. How will feds mandate purchases?

Nope - I still like driving too much. Nothing like slinging an MGB into a turn and feeling those 92 horses 'power' you down the straight! Could be that I am just getting old and/or mistrustful of just what a computer can analyze. Sometimes, the options are limited to where to crash and what is going...

Re: S&W K Frame OK with .38 Spl +P Loads?

Somebody will correct me if wrong, but I think SW started using model numbers on their handguns in 1957. If you have only a serial number it could predate 1957. If so, I would not risk the plus P ammo in it. Probably will not have a serious issue, maybe just cause some damage to components or timing...

Re: My Water Line Burst

Previous repair to a gas line (entire line from meter to pipe entering house) was connected with shark bite fittings, four years later one pulled apart, water flooded the line, and gas entered the house before we woke up and called Atmos. Had to redo both ends of line and of course pass pressure ins...
