Re: "Waiting Room"

Hi, I sent my stuff in by mail because I didn't have my SSN on file with DPS and I wasn't about to pay for a new license, therefore I wasn't able to apply online. Hopefully it wont take too long. Thanks David Ah, I see. Have you tried using your DL# and DOB on the login page? Seems like they should...

Re: Austin bakery 30.06 story

While I see what you're going for, I believe that's the wrong direction to be heading. We should be advocating for increased access, not the opposite. Sorry, my frustrated sarcasm got the best of me. :banghead: I have several LEO in my family, I would never actually advocate that they couldn’t go s...

Re: Austin bakery 30.06 story

Why not change the law so that 30.06/30.07 signs apply to all LEO, so then the business has to put up a warning that if there is an emergency or robbery, no customer will be helped by the police. If they claim firearms are evil and are not allowed, then they shouldn’t allow any at all.

Re: "Waiting Room"

9/20 - All documents received including finger prints. So now the 60 days begin. The lady told me to call back at the end of the month just to check up on it. You can just go to the DPS website, click on the online services, type in your info, and it will give you a page that shows the status of al...

Shot the Glock 19 gen 4 and gen 5, Glock 43, and CZ P10c today at the range, I think that pretty much makes it a happy 9x19 day.

Re: another 30.06 question

Perhaps I missed it in the preceding pages I didn't read, but has anyone ever been prosecuted for carrying in a premises covered by a 30.06 sign? I searched the interweb, and can’t find one, but I don’t have access to criminal records. I know of people who have been asked to leave, but don’t know o...

Re: HB435 Emergency Services Personnel

:iagree: I have to be responding to an emergency to carry in a school, etc, but not to ignore a 30.06 sign. Maybe I am missing something, but that is how I read it as well. HB435 gives volunteer emergency personnel, actually responding to an emergency, a way to enter inherently off limits locations...

Re: HB435 Emergency Services Personnel

When I read the bill, it seems to state that the emergency responder is in the act of responding to the emergency, other than that the 30.07 &.06 signage apply. I don't see that at all. " SECTION 2. Section 30.06, Penal Code, is amended by adding Subsection (f) to read as follows: (f) It is a defen...

Re: New Range being built in Flower Mound Tx

I am relatively new to all this, so thanks for the information about ETTS and TDSA. Anyone know if there are any less restrictive ranges north of Dallas? Have you checked out Dallas Pistol Club. It's in Carrollton. They are about to clear the wait list. Thanks very much, I will have to look into th...

Re: So it begins.

I would like to get an SBR with a suppressor, but I am not sure where to start since there are so many choices. I want something where I can feel comfortable that my wife or kids could shoot indoors for home defense without going deaf if the need ever arose. I guess I would be pretty limited in barr...

Re: HB435 Emergency Services Personnel

I also think the law is very clear that you do not need to actively be providing volunteer services at the time you are carrying. I may be missing something since I did not study the bill thoroughly, but I disagree. I read it as yu must be providing the service at the time for the exemption to appl...

Re: another 30.06 question

I see what you are saying about 30.05, but I think many people believe that it is ridiculous to have possible criminal penalties and consequences for a person who is acting completely lawfully and enters a location freely open to the public. There are many places in Texas and other state’s laws that...

Re: How do you train at the range?

switched over to my carry gun and shot at B-27 targets at about 10 yards, drawing from my holster, firing three rounds as fast as I could and still be accurate and then re-holstering and I did this with about 50 rounds. Can I ask where you able to shoot that way? It seems every range around me has ...

Re: New Range being built in Flower Mound Tx

A private club with a limited membership that is open to the public for most matches, but not all. Dynamic shooting can be done with handgun, rifle or shotgun. We just don't shoot at the target backers with a shotgun. For that I typically pick up old clays from the 5-stand area that didn't break an...
