Re: CAMPUS CARRY: TIME CRITICAL ACTION ITEM!

Chas.
I think the odds of the university I work for allowing it will be next to none if they have a choice on the matter.
Mine as well. They have already made it painfully obvious here that they'll do whatever they can to prevent concealed carry on campus. So if there are any loophol...

Re: Campus-Carry Bills are dying!!!

I thought they all were paid a (meager) salary? Sounds like they should work all the long hours they can, until everything is settled. ;-)

Re: Campus-Carry Bills are dying!!!

slightly off-topic... but... I'm hoping someone in the legal profession or knowledgeable about the House can explain...Is there a reason that the reps dont stay and do this longer than they do? I mean, why cant they stay until all of the bills are heard/voted? This would eliminate the problem of peo...

Re: Campus-Carry Bills are dying!!!

This quote from an Austin American-Statesman blog post is worth noting: Ronald Thomas, a retired UT-Austin police lieutenant, called to say that not all officers agree. Thomas favors allowing concealed handguns on campus because, he said, an armed person could prevent or cut short a tragedy well be...

Re: Campus-Carry Bills are dying!!!

I agree... If that under-educated, white bushy haired old hag with the bifocals gets up there and argues relentlessly about subjects she really doesnt understand...I'm going to pull my hair out. :grumble Aside from that... I havent seen anything yet pertaining to our bills. They have not been in num...

Re: Dumb Question of the Day

I see your point, but why does that officer "need" at least one service pistol, two magazines, a Taser, a big can of pepper spray, body armor, at least one two-way radio, at least one cell phone, a baton, and a shotgun or rifle in his patrol car? We have constitutions and laws so that a LEO's opini...

Re: Dumb Question of the Day

One other note...just to play advocate... Even though you might be able to carry as much as you'd like... Consider what a LEO is going to think when he checks you out (trenchcoat and all)...and you have a bunch of guns hidden on you. In my daily carry, I think its 'reasonable' (not Obamalam reasonab...

Re: Virginia Tech Shooting and Governor Perry's change to CHL

I work at a Dallas University...and our Employee weapons policy hasnt even been REVISED since 1994. Its a basic blanket policy, covering every "what if" scenario. Per the letter of the policy, you could get terminated for having a standard pocket knife. Hell, it even goes as far as to ban "la...

Carry unconcealed w/ permission of restaurant owner?

Hello all... this is my 1st question out of the "waiting room"... it only took 2 total days to get my plastic after the website status changed. I am still in shock and awe that I'm already holding the real plastic. My question is... I meet with a large group of friends every week at a smal...

Re: "Obama Supports Individual Gun Rights" - NOT

I wouldn't know what to do! Turrible! Gun violence. Reminds me of that car movie with Cissy Spasek (sp?) - "Christine". Now that movie was one good example of car violence, yessir! Inanimate objects turning violent. There ought to be a law. You're thinking of "Creepy Carrie, Creepy Carrie"... "Siss...
