Re: PG&E Cutting Power

I read that they were sued for not cutting power so now they decided to cut power. What’s a company to do among the craziness?

Re: Barret-50Bmg vs Barret 416

Ammo and rifles in 50 BMG have come down in cost due to a decrease in popularity so I pick 50 for that reason. I’d be hard pressed to be able to shoot 1000 yards much less anything past that.

Re: Three firearm distributors will be closed by year end

Yes, it most likely relates to business practices in one way or another but the market used to be able to sustain these distributors even with the way they ran and now it no longer can. I don’t have access to the inner workings but did hear about rumors of some bad practices but I don’t think that’s...

Re: Three firearm distributors will be closed by year end

I disagree. Unhealthy businesses fail while others grow. It sucks for their employees, but the consumer won't notice a thing (unless you collect S&W revolvers and that's a smaller and smaller group). Acusport closed also, I forgot that one. Les Horton May have offered a lot of one offs but the othe...

Three firearm distributors will be closed by year end

As an indication of the condition of the firearms industry, three wholesale distributors will be closed by year end. Ellet Brothers, Green Supply and Lee Horton. It’s a very competitive industry with small margins and in the end this is not a good thing for consumers.

I’ve got several O-Light lights and I’m pleased with every one. They have some great sales around thanksgiving and Christmas.

Several manufacturers make an AR-15 in .50 beowulf.
One makes it in a big boy caliber - 500 auto max.

Re: 20 ga slugs

Anyone shoot 20 ga slugs with a smooth bore? Is there a difference between a smooth and rifled bore for 50 yard shooting? I don't own either one yet. It sometimes pays to reread the OP! Narcissist referred briefly to this, but the difference in recoil between 12 and 20 gauge is negligible. I’ve bee...

Re: 5 Best online Gunsmithing Schools [2019]

I think insurance and liability are the biggest detractors to doing gunsmith work. FYI here are the 4 NRA approved programs:

Re: 20 ga slugs

Never tried from a smooth bore. I bought a Savage 220 (bolt action, rifled, detachable mag, slug gun) last year I need to get sighted in. Supposedly with the 3” sabots it will group well out to 200 yards.

Re: Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick attacks NRA and Supports expanded background checks

Pie-in-the-sky proposal One of the problems with ending private transfers is that FFL's charge for transfers. So, require the transfer to take place WITHOUT CHARGE at EVERY Federal office. :evil2: I mean EVERY Federal prosecutor, FBI Office, Post Office, Park Service, BATFE office, Social Security ...

Re: Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick attacks NRA and Supports expanded background checks

Let's help draft a law we can live with.... -- Printed receipt for each party -- Transaction records immediately deleted How can you have a printed receipt and delete the transaction records? The buyer gets a receipt, the seller gets a receipt, the government gets to delete the record after printin...

Re: Lessons from observing 5000 gunfights

I used to watch him when he first got started but for some reason he annoys me. I like to follow people who have some real world fighting experience too (like Pat McNamara), there’s a world of difference in just knowing theory and actually using it in real life. Anyone can view videos and make up co...

Re: Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick attacks NRA and Supports expanded background checks

For me, personally, I would appreciate the opportunity to go to the local cop-shop, together with the other party in a gun transaction, and have the buyer and the weapon checked for eligibility and stolen, respectively. Print a receipt for each party, no other record kept. No registration required,...
