Why would you bother telling us to ask you instead of just telling us how you know?
I assume that was the sarcastic version of "because it happened to me."

Re: 19 yo traveling with gun in car

Thanks so much Steve et al. I think my recommendations were in the right direction then. Only place I might need to reconsider is that I recommended him to answer truthfully if a LEO asked if he had a firearm in the car. Based on Steve's post, I might advise him to respectfully decline to answer tha...

Re: 19 yo traveling with gun in car

Agree with thoughts posted here re: it's okay for anyone who is legal to "possess" a handgun to carry one in an automobile under MPA. Relative of mine between 18 and 21 yrs old and I were discussing this and he raised an issue I'd like to post for feedback. He said when he's been pulled over, he has...

Re: In my experience, 30.06 signs are not that common

30.06 signs? A good handful. Even the thift store... name suddenly escapes me starts with W?... lots o' hospitals, hotels, other stores. Legally enforceable 30.06 signs? Not very many. If I wanted to push on every detail, I could probably dismiss all but 1 or 2. A ton of white letters on clear glass...

Re: Questionable company policy. Need help!

Agree. You are at tremendous risk of getting fired by continuing to carry with others knowing and that policy. It is at the best, very iffy if the "unless authorized by state law" would include CHL carriers. Slightly off-topic: I always hear this "they can fire you for any reason at all in Texas, pe...

Re: CHL at the Doctors office.

Our guys have a temperature strip on the cup to indicate if it's not the right temp just to catch things like that. Guess it's pretty to tough to keep it at full body temperature during all the prelim stuff.

Re: CHL at the Doctors office.

That's why I don't carry to the Dr. Never know what's gonna happen. Might have a pleasant experience, or might have a nurse go running down the hall screaming "He's got a gun!!!" whether posted or not. Actually, this is one place I have carried off the body in a backpack. And I have always thought t...

Re: Dangerous Road Rage Situation, WWYD?

Okay, original poster, I agree with the majority that you should have de-escalated by just turning off that road or making a u-turn. Nice thing is, he's in front of you and you have space to maneuver. Getting next to him put you in a much more vulnerable position. (Realizing that you thought you wer...

Re: Don't put empty magazines in your carry on...

I will just say that I heard from a friend that this area of CHL is no laughing matter. There are many cases each year of people accidentally bringing their loaded guns through security. This is a felony and can really screw up your life in a big way! It would be great if we could get some action ta...

Re: Your First Car

My older brother had one of those Plymouth Fury II's that someone mentioned. What a boat! My first car was the hand-me-down from my mom: 1973 Plymouth Valiant, 225 slant 6, automatic trans, kind of greenish-tan color with an dark green vinyl top. Seriously styling! Was the first year of electronic i...

Re: Legal for me to teach a non-US citizen to shoot?

Have taken visitors from other countries, even China, to the range. What's the rule on felons? Not able to own a gun? For x number of years or forever or what? Didn't know that. Know they're restricted from CHL but that's a different deal. I can't think of any law that says anything near "____ is no...

Re: VT Survivor Fails to See How Campus Carry Fits into Pict

Hard to figure that logic. "This approach failed miserably last time. We need to take this approach more." It's one thing before you have a test case, it's just idiocy after a few datapoints all stacked in one direction. Friend of mine had a slightly different version of that quote: "Never argue wit...
