Re: Carrying the LCP, P238, G33, and the 1911...

I don't see a problem with carrying different platforms as long as you are proficient enough with all of them that you won't mess up the manual of arms in an emergency. For example, if you've been practicing with your 1911 and P238 and and try to swipe off the safety on your Glock, it's not an issue...

Either of those tickets would guarantee Obama a second term. I, and I expect many other independents, would sit out the election rather than vote for either of those.

Re: Texas constitutional amendment prop. 9-pardons

I too would have forgotten to vote on election day, but it came to mind when I was at work one weekend so I stopped by one of the early voting locations which is on my way home. Didn't particularly care about the municipal elections, but I make it a point to vote against all spending/bond issues on ...

I don't think the Gen4 subcompacts have had the same issues the bigger guns have had. One of the major mechanical changes from Gen3 to Gen4 was switching to a telescoping guide rod, but the subcompacts have always had those.

Re: What should I use, harsh language?

I'm surprised pocket carry doesn't work for you. I have a Mika pocket holster for my S&W 642 and it doesn't come close to falling out. Deeper pockets, perhaps? Other than that, I'd go with ankle carry or one of the deep carry methods (belly band, undershirt holster, Smart Carry, etc.). Maybe switch ...

Re: Trip to Heck ... I mean NJ/NY

Kinda makes me wonder if slingshots are regulated there . I bet if the authorities have looked into it, ammo pouches are probably limited to no more than ten projectiles, though. The answer is yes, of course. Here's a link to an attorney's overview of what's prohibited. Scroll down the page to the ...

Re: Thoughts-Opinions on Jennings JA-22 semi-auto

Eh, I've shot a friend's and it wasn't bad. Pretty accurate and decently reliable with CCI MiniMags (1 or 2 FTFeed in ~100rds). I wouldn't buy one, but wouldn't turn down a free one either.

Re: how many carry a back up gun?

Yeah, in the winter I'll usually carry a S&W 642 in an ankle holster as a BUG.

Usually don't carry a backup when wearing shorts in the summer, since the best way to carry it then is in a pocket ani I carry enough other stuff that I need the pocket space.

Thanks, everyone. It looks like Freer Gun Shop is the Winchester authorized repair center for the Houston area, so that's one options.

Other suggestions still appreciated.

Thanks!

Winchester gunsmith in Houston

Does anyone have a smith who knows Winchester lever rifles that they can recommend in Houston? I just bought a 94AE with the intention of using it as a trunk rifle, and I'm considering having the 20" barrel cut to 16.5".

Thanks in advance.

Re: glock 28 in .380

im not sure what im looking at there.... The Gun Control Act of 1968 prohibits the importation of guns which are unsuitable for sporting purposes, but the determination of whether they are suitable is left up to the ATF. The ATF has established the linked rating system to make that determination an...

Re-reading it, sounds like the boyfriend got hosed. He was held in jail for almost two years awaiting trial. Then he evidently had a plea bargain where he pled guilty and was released for time served. There was never any evidence that he had touched or handled the SKS. No doubt he got hosed. He was...

Bottom line, she left the firearms in plain sight. They were theoretically accessible to the felon, but she did not overtly furnish them. She was found innocent. There are nuanced risks of getting charged depending upon firearms handling, behavior, LEO attitude, jurisdiction, etc., but she could al...

I don't know; maybe you should ask some Obama voters.

Re: Which states have "high capacity magazine" laws?

Yeah, stay out of MD with guns. Their laws aren't as bad as NY/NJ/MA but they give it a good shot. Northern VA isn't much better as far as attitude, but at least VA has strong state preemption of gun laws. Only states that restrict possession of standard cap mags are Cali and the usual suspects in t...
