Re: Church shooting in Tarrant County - White Settlement

Well, I guess if the term "gunman" is automatically assumed to be a criminal, that is the "anti" viewpoint. It then follows for those of us that are 2A fans, that we should immediately infer that journalists using "gunman" are using it to describe a criminal. Whereas, I might read further into a sto...

Re: Church shooting in Tarrant County - White Settlement

The problem in the above story is ambiguity. The BG was a "gunman", and Jack Lewis could be considered a "gunman".

The lack of clarity in ID'ing each shooter is the crux of the troubling reporting. The "gunman" who owned the range and trained others on his security team was the GOOD GUY.

Re: DFW Way Out West Breakfast

Well, this past 4th Saturday, 12/29/19, we had 8 at the breakfast. But we hit a snag, since Manny's Cafe, Hudson Oaks, had a power outage, and we went to Plan B. We all got in our vehicles and moved to Cracker Barrel, Weatherford. The 8 attendees were: Blackhorse1, Mrs. Blackhorse1, chasfm11, diesel...

Re: DFW West/Southwest Quadrant Breakfast

Well, this past Saturday, 12/21/19, we had a good turnout for breakfast: Blackhorse1, diesel42, jusme, nano, our non-forum Gideon friend, SigM4 and Baby Boy SigM4, SIA, and strogg. So we had 8 adults. It was a special day for Baby Boy SigM4 since it was his 1st birthday. A good time was had by all. ...

Re: WTB: .22 handgun for introducing new/inexperienced shooters.

Well, I picked up my new FDE Smith and Wesson M & P Compact .22 the other day. When I took it home and went to remove the slide, I needed to watch a Youtube video on the proper takedown procedure. What surprised me was the fact that this pistol does not have a removable barrel like most pistols. It ...

Re: DFW North/NorthEast Quadrant Breakfast

This past Saturday, 12/14/19, we had a total of 11 people attend our Frisco breakfast. This is probably the highest number of attendees at any of the 3 DFW area breakfasts for the last year or two! Three forum members brought their brides: C-dub and D-dub, kayt00 and Mrs. Kayt00, wally775 and Mrs. w...

.22 handgun for introducing new/inexperienced shooters.

I am looking for a .22 handgun in order to introduce new shooters to shooting, or to get someone back into shooting if they have not shot for a while. A .22 revolver would be OK, but a .22 pistol would be my preference. The .22 doesn't have to be pretty, it just has to be in good working order, eat ...

Re: I guess my original plan for Afghanistan after 9/11 was right afterall

"When you're wounded and left on Afghanistan's plains, and the women come out to cut up what remains, jest roll to your rifle and blow out your brains and go to your gawd like a soldier." Rudyard Kipling, 1865-1936. Afghanistan has always been a troublesome country for those other countries that co...
