Re: Can I carry at University of Phoenix?

This sucks. By virtue of being on the same premises as an educational institution people that have nothing to do with said institution are being denied their consitutional rights. And how many other businesses are in this same situation? To reiterate, this really sucks.

Re: Religious Persecution???

I agree with T.A.M. It's not always about me me me. Too many people are "starring in their own movie" and could care less or are oblivious to others around them. The city should not have approached this from a religious standpoint. However, some people have claimed to be a church or religion with so...

Re: When To Apply Before Expiration

I was unaware of the veteran discount. I thought there was only a discount for active duty. I'll have to dig out my DD214 when it's time for my renewal.

Re: Sotomayor and 2A Rights

I was thinking about this because of Sotomayor's reversal record with the SCOTUS. I think she's a nut, but also wondered how many "conservative" judges have had as many of their decisions reversed by the SCOTUS.

Re: Sotomayor and 2A Rights

I've been looking for a little bit, but couldn't find an answer to this question.

How often does the SCOTUS reverse decisions that get to them? I wonder since they also get to decide what they will and won't hear. Do they usually decide to hear a case that they are more likely to reverse?

Re: Oklahoma City pharmacist / first degree murder / VIDEO

This makes me think of all the incidents of police that go overboard on the violence at the end of a chase. Especially the more recent release of that video from Alabama where they went to town on that guy who was ejected from his truck and lay unconscious while getting the snot beat out of him. We'...

Re: Umm what the heck Texas?

I googled the hospital and e-mailed my opinion of them denying someone's First Amendment rights. Even though they invited the nurse to put her flag back up i told them i thought it was too little too late. They had already shown their true colors.

If he's running away you're shooting to recover stolen property, not shooting to protect human life.
That's what I thought.

I'm not sure I would shoot at this point, though. I would probably give chase and then if he threatened me I would shoot.

Re: My hands are deadly weapons!!!

Can we go back to scenario C for a moment? What if the BG had threatened that if the woman called the police he would come back and kill her? Since he had her purse, that probably had her wallet with personal information in it, he would have the opportunity at any time. What if it were my wife's pur...

When they panicked they were not gun owners. Now that they are gun owners they're not panicking.

Re: SCOTUS Nomination

I have a question about her statement that the second amendment not applying to the states. I've thought about it for a few minutes and something about this doesn't sound right, but I can't quite figure out what it is. If it doesn't apply to the states, who does it apply to? The people, right? I'm n...

Re: Veterinarian Advice

My in-laws did this with a dog a few years ago and their regular vet. was unavailable when it came time. They were able to find another one that would come to the house. One of the mobile ones mentioned above. I honestly don't know if a vet. would let you take the body home afterward. Within city li...

This just disgusts me!

I didn't shoot him because he was black, brown, yellow, or white. I shot him because he was threatening to kill me or someone else. He made that choice for me.

I agree with the Hawaiian shirt, but some guys can pull that off. I have a few, but they aren’t bright or multi-colors. They are mostly different shades of the same color with wild patterns that break-up any printing that may occur. So many people wear these that most people won’t give them a second...

Re: Controlling the population of black birds in DFW.

Migratory? Really? From Denton to Waxahachie? Just kidding. It seemes like those things are here year round.

Although, I don't have that many in my neighborhood. We do have a lot of mockingbirds. I wonder if they've run the grackles off.
