Re: Child shoots intruder during home break-in

I too, walked home from school at a younger age than this boy and was home alone for a few hours before either working parent returned. I would not have been able to protect myself if something like this had happened. I have mixed feelings on the access this boy had to a firearm. If he hadn't, he an...

I thought only Minnesota actually passed such a law at this point.

Re: Employment background checks & CHL

I thought this information could be requested, but we, the CHL holder, would be notified of such a request. Did this change? I thought even I could find out if anyone was a CHL holder, but had to do so in writing for a specific person and they would be notified that this information had been reques...

Re: Anyone know the answer to this?

Outstanding TxMatt. I was looking for something like this. I was going in the direction of preventing cruelty to animals or protection of the destruction of property, since in Texas I believe animals/dogs are considered property. Interesting how they can be considered property in one sense and a liv...

Re: Dog attacks

TexasVet is correct about the shots. When I worked in a pediatric clinic a few years back a little girl was treated for a cat bite. I dont' remember how many shots were given, but they were administered around the site of the bite.

Re: VA: Customer shoots robber

Wow. An open-carry state and robbers are still willing to take chances... Exactly what I was thinking! First I wondered where the guy concealed this and then I remembered VA is an open carry state. He might have just had it in a regular western style holster. That's just awesome. I was recently tra...

Re: American Flag Burned Outside Dallas Home, Again

I'm sorry, but I'm very confused by the decision, by whichever court, that BURNING a flag is an acceptable form of free speech. I don't understand how an "act" is considered speech. However, if that's the way it is going to be can it still be considered as such if the flag being burned is not owned ...

Re: At Church....and school?

And this is why it stinks.

I, unfortunately, think it is within the premises of a school and would not risk it. I do not wish to nor have the money to be a test case to get this defined.

Re: Carry at Govt Owned Venue

Talk about confusing! This is a link to the page I found that I based my opinion on. http://www.hoovers.com/american-airlines-center/--ID__107611--/free-co-profile.xhtml" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It's probably not likely that this is done this way solely as a cover so they can p...

Re: Carry at Govt Owned Venue

I may have found the answer to my own question. The American Airlines Center in Dallas is owned and operated by Center Operating Company L.P. Dallas, TX . Although, the center was partially funded by the taxpayers it is not owned by the city of Dallas. So, I guess this answers our question of how th...

Re: Carry at Govt Owned Venue

That is interesting that this has come up. I was thinking about attending the circus at the AA Center later in August. This goes against my don't ask, don't get notified policy, but I wonder if or who I could ask about what their policy will be and if/how they can legally enforce it. My kid wants to...

Congratulations and condolences at the same time. I'm sorry you had to part with such a fine weapon, but very happy you were able to find it a new home so quickly.
