Re: Who Carries A Snub Nose Revolver

I have carried the sp101 with relative frequency in the past. I like it a lot, but it is heavy. That is the main reason I don't carry it too often anymore. By the end of a long day, I notice the weight. My FiveseveN is a couple of ounces lighter than the sp101, and weight is a bigger issue for me th...

Re: Which gun is it for you?

My favorite is the .357 Colt Python with 2.5" barrel I got from my Dad. That one will be passed down to the next generation.

Re: Recover Stolen Vehicle Legal Aspect

I don't think the car owner did anything wrong here, but as the officer noted, a lot of things could have gone very wrong. Remember those bounty hunters trying to arrest the guy at the car dealership last week. When you confront a group of criminals, things can go south fast. Calling the police whil...

Re: Another q&a Is There A Rolls Royce Laser/Light Comboo?

I have a streamlight Tlr-2 on my VP .40. It has been on the pistol for a few thousand rounds and it works perfect. It is a little on the big side but it has worked great. The only other one I have used was a UTG that I bought cheap. It lasted about 6 shots before it broke.

Re: Roswell

I have always been intrigued by the Roswell story. I have been there many times and whatever you believe about the alien crash, it is certainly interesting. My personal belief is that the whole story was invented, staged, confirmed and then immediately denied by the U.S. government as part of Post W...

Re: If you're going to pass out on trunk of a car, make sure it's Carl's car

Y'all ever have someone stick one of those printed advertisements under your windshield wiper, and not notice until you were already driving away? You know you should pull over and take it off, but you're in a hurry and think, "heck, i'm going to let the wind take it, or else get it when I stop next...

Re: Wood AK furniture re-finish help

I refinished the furniture on my AK about 10 years ago. My main goal was to protect the wood from the elements as it is a working, bang around the truck type gun, so I kept it very simple. I removed all the furniture, sanded off the old finish to the bare wood and applied a stain that I liked with a...

Re: Work VS Free time

Most days my work gun is a Shield 9mm in a bravo concealment holster and one spare magazine in a taco pouch from High Speed Gear
When I am not working I usually carry a FiveSeveN in a Comp-tac gladiator.

Re: My EDC blade of choice

Gerber 06 for me. I appreciate a quality custom knife, but the rigors of daily carry and use can be painful to subject a custom blade too, at least for me. The Gerber is a nice knife that I can bear to cut, chop, and pry with.

Re: So....Does anyone still shoot .40 ????

I am a fan of the .40. I regularly carry an HK VP40 which is a heck of a gun. Maybe it is my imagination, but I feel like the .40 caliber guns designed within the last decade, are much easier to shoot and less snappy than the original .40 pistols. I have an old USP .40, which is highly reliable and ...

Re: On Going Outside to Investigate Noises

Exiting the house to confront an unknown intruder or number of intruders is very dangerous. My dogs are kind enough to let me know when anyone gets within 500 yards though, so I have a lot of heads up. My two male GSDs move in and out of the house via the doggie door and spend most of the night watc...

Re: At What Price Point For A Used Gun Do You Say No Thanks?

Generally speaking, I would not want to pay more than 75% of new for a used gun. If $100 bucks more will get me the same thing new, I will normally pony up the extra cash. Of course, if I were considering a high end 1911 or well built rifle, 75% of new could be a big savings.

Re: If you could only have one gun

Put me in the 12 gauge camp. Winchester 1300 for me, because that's what I have in my truck right now, but any quality 12 or even 20 gauge would do the trick. Aside from the variety of loads from birdshot to buckshot to slugs, some nice pepper ball loads are good to keep in your tool box. When all t...

Re: 5.7x28 - the real skinny?

Granted at that time one could get the more hotly loaded ammunition for it. I have understood from reports that Hasan was firing the FN sporting round, SS197SR when he committed his terror attack. I always carry T6B, which is a hot round for sure. SS198LF Green Tip ammo can be found readily on the ...
