Re: No place but Venezuela

Desperate Venezuelans swarm sewage drains in search of water: https://www.reuters.com/article/us-venezuela-politics-water-idUSKBN1QS2SN This is the sort of thing that happens when citizens give up their guns. We must never let the corrupt tyrants and weak minded people in this country disarm us. Th...

Re: Bayou Rifles Membership

Not sure that this was supposed to be sent out to the general public. New applicants must be recommended by a current member. One has to qualify to be able to shoot at 1000 yards (they want to make sure that you are not putting bullets off the property). My experience was to have to shoot at 300 yar...

Re: 5 Officers Shot In Houston - Pray

After reading the news article, that raid does not pass the smell test. If 4 guys dressed in black busted down my door and shot my cats (I don't have dogs but one cat can be pretty fierce :-) ) I would be returning fire at a rapid pace. HPD has some "splaining" to do.

Re: Galco Phoenix Belt Holster for Revolvers

I have the sister pistol to that on (R8 M&P). That pistol has the bottom rail built into the barrel sleeve rather than as a bolt on like yours. Does your pistol fit in the new holster with the bottom rail on? I would like to have a holster like that if it fits my pistol. You will like the revolver. ...

Re: Speaker Bonnen's betrayal of Texas gun-owners

Its a shame that Bonnen can't work under LBJ's rule. "When we (democrats) have the votes, they (republicans) do what we say. When they (republicans) have the votes, we (democrats) do what they (republicans) say". Bonnen has given the farm away. Wonder what drove his decisions.

A thorough investigation may reveal that the bullets did not come from the gun range.

Re: "Gritty" trigger on M&P 2.0 Compact

I have looked mine over well, cleaned them and lubed them with Royal Purple synthetic oil that I use on my other pistols. These pistol are accurate (firing slowly) and there is a lot to like about them other than the trigger (which S&W advertised would be improved over the 1.0 versions). If the trig...

Re: "Gritty" trigger on M&P 2.0 Compact

Don’t waste your time sending it back to S&W. I bought two of the compacts a few months after they came out. They have been back to S&W three times and nothing has been done, they just sent them back. On one phone call, the rep told me that the triggers should have a pull of 5-5 1/4 pounds. Both of ...

Re: Incredible account of Parkland shooting

Watching that reconstruction of events is sad and sickening. What a bunch of cowards/inept/untrained school officials and law enforcement (police captain was probably among the worst of the bunch but there are several in the running for that). In early 2016, I attended a 3 day Citizen Response to Ac...

How can one see the movie now? I missed the first showing and had oral surgery yesterday (put under and groggy the rest of the day).

Re: .45 ACP Dies

I have Lee, Hornady and Dillon in 45 ACP. I started with the Lee just after Obama got elected as that is all I could find. I had heard that they were low in cost and one got what they paid for (not true). I later bought a set of Hornady dies and loaded a big batch of ammo with both for testing. They...

Re: Nobody but Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

Philbo, I am sure that Alexandria will provide the opportunity for comments soon with her actions and the thread will get back on track. I think there is a great deal of frustration on the side of the conservatives because we watched the lawlessness of the left for 8 years under Obama and are really...

Re: .45ACP is still my choice for handgun caliber

I carry anything from a LCP 380 to 9mm in different sizes to a full size M&P or 1911 in 45 ACP depending on the situation. I will say that I prefer a full size 45 ACP. I have no personal experience in this but have talked with several big city SWAT team members that have had to shoot more than a few...

Re: 22 November, 1963

I was in third grade. I remember the announcement (my Dad was the principal at the school). School was dismissed early and we were all being sent home. Things seemed very strange that day after the announcement of the shooting. I like to listen to books on CD when I take long road trips. On a trip i...
