Re: M4 Group Size

1 in 7 is all LMT offers. I agree about the cost of match ammo and will be handloading some heavy bullets. Will update when I get the components and have time to load up and test.

Thanks

45 ACP brass with small primer pockets

I found a bunch of Speer 45 ACP brass at the range today and all of it has small primer pockets. I have found a little of this in the past and just pitched them but I would prefer not to do that if these are useable for reloading. Has anyone loaded 45 ACP with small primer pockets? If so, other than...

M4 Group Size

I have a new LMT M4. I have shot it with 2 different scopes to test accuracy and have been disappointed. I am shooting Lake City 55 grain ammo (the barrel has a 1 in 7 twist and I know that is for 77 grain bullets). I am getting 3 1/4 inch to 4 inch groups at 100 yards off the bench. I emailed LMT a...

Trigger Job for a Ruger Revolver

I have an old Ruger Security Six that needs a good trigger job (both single and double action). Can anyone recommend someone in the Houston Area for this work (preferably on the south side of town). Thanks,

Re: ammo on sale

I was at the Walmart in Alvin last night at 10:30 for some late night grocery shopping. Decided to stop by the ammo counter just to see what was there. Have not seen anything like that in 1 1/2 years. They had lots of 45 (win white box and federal) and 380 (Win white box). Lots of 9 and 40 (typical ...

Re: The good old days

Could not resist jumping in on this. I have some Unique and 2400 from 1974/75 that has $5.95 on the one pound can. I got this while I was in college and first started reloading. I went inactive with the reloading/pistol shooting for many years and just started back last year. I loaded up some 357 mi...

Re: Federal Tax On Guns In 2010 1040

Joe, Thank you for the reply. The first time I saw this was a couple of weeks ago. A good friend of mine saw this last week (for her first time). I told her that I would post on this board as there are plenty of knowledgeable folks here that would know if this is true or not. I am fairly new here as...

Re: Federal Tax On Guns In 2010 1040

Folks,

Thank you for the information. My apologies to those that thought this was a dumb question. I have always been told that the only dumb questions are the ones you are afraid to ask.

Federal Tax On Guns In 2010 1040

I keep getting emails from others stating that there will be a $50 tax on each gun we own as part of our income tax this year. Supposidly something the Obama folks pushed through without anyone knowing about it and that all of this had been confirmed as true.

What is the real story on this?

Thanks!

Cleaning Primer Pockets

Question for all you experienced reloaders out there. I started reloading 35 years ago with a single stage press. Went inactive on reloading in 1984 and have just started again this year. Still have all my old equipment and follow my old drill, including cleaning the primer pocket on every reload. I...

Re: ammo on sale

Went into Gander Mountain on 290 @ fm 1960 in the Houston area to gander , and the ammo shelves are completely stocked (except .380). There was even a nice selection of SD ammo. I didn't make note of all the prices , but WWB 100 round .45 was $41.00 and plenty of it. I'm curious why Gander Mountain...
