eezox

My SS Commander is willing to rust on the frame under the grips. No problems since I started using eezox. Every couple of weeks I'll take the grips off and rub the frame as part of it's preventative maint.

Enjoy!

cant

I'm skinny, 5'9" with long arms & carry an all steel Commander. I started with a VM2. It was pretty comfortable but printed badly when I sat or bent and I had to lift my arm an awkwardly long ways to draw. Since I have tweaked pretty much everything I've owned to suit me I went to work on the holste...

Thanks

It was longer than that, but very well may have included that wording. We don't have to go this weekend but will likely be back some time in the future so I'll copy it down and verify that it matches or not. She purse carries (which I'm not a fan of BTW) so all it would really take is for me to carr...

Hospital carry again

Went with DSW to the Fredericksburg hospital last weekend. Sign on the entrance states no firearms allowed under state law. 44.18 I think? No longer true, right? So in we go without disarming. She has to go through the admission process every time we do this even though all they're doing is drawing ...

signage

Went with DSW to the hospital in Fredericksburg for some bloodwork Saturday. They have the old state law sign, no 30.06. We never broke stride.

Take care of yourself Pax, those kiddos are missing you!

I didn't compete but was a club member. Fairly close to home and I could take the kids during the week when nobody else was there.

Nimitz

Nimitz museum in Fredericksburg is a should do. I don't know if it's 30.06, I haven't been there in a few years and was with a school group at the time. Doubt that it is, very few places around there are.

WTB Crescent SXS

Father-in-Law has a Crescent New Empire in .410 that's missing a forend.
Looking to buy either the complete forend or a whole gun if the price is easy enough. Wood condition not important.
Any ideas/suggestions most welcome and appreciated.

Thanks!

sturdy?

I've got one of the COM boxes and they are tough enough to defeat curious children and typical smash & grabbers, but I would imagine that a determined individual with a large screwdriver would be able to get in it. I've also taken a cheap cashbox and drilled two holes through the side to run a cable...

<80

Sent 5/16/06, PINs sent 6/12/06, web confirmation 8/02/06, licenses in on 8/04/06. Exact same dates for both me & DSW.
I haven't counted exact days, but it's roughly 80 from mailbox to mailbox.
Paid with USPS money order, no problems with paperwork or background checks.

Enjoy!

We're out

DSW & I sent applications in May 16th with PO money orders for payment. PINs issued June 12th. I was pretty patient, but will admit that I started checking the DPS website almost daily after the middle of July. Web confirmation on August 2nd and both licenses got here today. That puts it almost 80 d...

Problem?

Let's just refer to it as, "An extravagance in which we indulge". If your kids aren't hungry it's not a problem. ;-) I agree with going 4" or larger. Lots of people with shorter 1911s that are reliable but overall they seem to have more issues. Changing the sights will depend on what it has to begin...

it's a start

Dear Sweet Wife & I sent apps in on May 16th. PIN numbers were both in our mailbox this afternoon. Told myself at the beginning that if we both had our license before school started in the fall we would be doing good. I can be patient. Really. Catching up on landscaping and other general house chore...
