Re: Require All Prohibited Places to Post

It's driven by their #1 expense, liability insurance. They're required to post. I'm still waiting to hear this from someone who actually underwrites insurance or see it in writing on an insurance plan. Its the excuse most of my previous employers have used, and yet I have extreme doubts about how t...

Re: Require All Prohibited Places to Post

OC caused my doctors office to post both signs and they are still up. I just got back in my vehicle after the doctor visit and got my pistol out of the safe. :mad5 All these years I carried concealed and the doctor knew, but did not care and he still doesn’t, but the hospital he is connected to doe...

Re: Require All Prohibited Places to Post

I’d prefer no new sign legislation of any type. Any time a light shines on the concept of signage, it tends to create collateral damage that is not positive for those of us who carry. This is true. I visited Senator Huffman's office a couple of years ago after the big open carry law foofooraw and s...

Re: I'm Very glad I live in Texas!

Isn't there public land in NM where you can shoot targets, etc?
There is nothing like that in Texas...
I'd drive quite a ways for that, but not all the way to NM from Houston.

EDIT: the only signage legislation I’d support is to remove the concept all-together!

Re: Medical Facilities

I have no idea if my experience is common or not, but I have had no problem in finding MD, DDS, eye doctor, pharmacy, etc., that is not posted. I carry openly in all of them. I work and get medical care in Austin. However, with aging parents, I am visiting hospitals more often. I need to prioritize...

Re: Poker Room

There's one near my house in Katy, and the owner encourages folks to conceal and carry. There is nothing in the law preventing it unless they post 30.06 or 30.07. Carry away... and I would recommend it as they are definitely a target of bad-people... they know there is a lot of cash and that people ...

Re: 74+ year old in-laws wanting to get their LTC and new guns

Thanks again. The 642 made the short list to demo, but I'm guessing it will likely get eliminated. My MIL grew up in Kenya. She did a lot of shooting in her youth including very large rifles as well as handguns, so I want to let her at least give it a go. My money is on the Shield EZ at this point. ...

Re: 74+ year old in-laws wanting to get their LTC and new guns

Great stuff! Thank you. And for those making the suggestion of try before you buy, and let them make up their own mind, I full agree. I am not looking to do this for them, but I am going to do my best to guide them, especially my MIL, to the best option. They just do not know the full variety of op...

74+ year old in-laws wanting to get their LTC and new guns

So, my in-laws bought, at a charity auction, 2 LTC classes. That has been the catalyst for them to actually get a couple of handguns and their license. They both believe in the right but just have never bothered to do anything about it. My mother-in-law actually grew up in Africa and has hunted anim...

Looks like at this time all signs have been removed . I will keep a watch out to see if they replace them next week when the fair starts
That’s good to hear. I wish the corrupt folks who post the HLSR entrances would be held accountable. I’m a volunteer there and it makes me sick.

Re: I got busted today...

Also don't feel bad about not carrying with a round in the chamber. It's also better safe than sorry. Sometimes getting use to handling your gun and learning more about gun safely before carrying a loaded weapon is ideal. Sometimes time is what's needed to become more confident in your abilities. I...
