Re: Min power spotter scope to see from 1000 yds?

Thanks for the offer...I shoot my own .50, but it uses black powder and is fired with a flintlock. A far more "interesting" hobby...although I'll never be accurate beyond 150-200yds with it

Re: .223 is altered to fire .50 cal ammo?

They're likely referring to an AR lower that's macthed with a new upper that shoots .50 (Beowulf), or .458 SOCOM, or any other "thumper" caliber.

It's just the press being stupid. Tell me something new.

You can find them on gunbroker.com in the $1500-$1800 range. I'll leave the "Why would you want one of those things?" for a separate thread

Re: Min power spotter scope to see from 1000 yds?

If you have some flexibility on the range, consider a remote camera (FAR less than a very high powered scope, and more flexible). Here's an example

Re: What's the Origin of Your User Name?

mine's horribly lame...my blog (and gamertag) is letskilldave. I've had it for many years and use it for several logins (like thehighroad.us), somebody once asked me if I was paranoid that people wanted to kill me, so I decided to use the shorter "lkd". That and it makes my typing requirement for lo...

Re: Debra Medina's Stance on Drugs-- What she Really Said

I know a lot of cops that would vote in favor of legalizing pot and banning alcohol. They point out that potheads aren't (generally) prone to episodic voilence and that (the ones I've talked to) have never arrested a pothead on a domestic violence call, but they get a lot of DV calls for drunken wif...

Re: Austin Gun Show Troubles?

It's not the gun show promoter's doing. Staying away will help Austin PD accomplish its goal of ridding Austin of gun shows. If private sales are not welcome then I'm not going. I don't care why. This is precisely the point. The property owner has established rules that contravene one of the great ...

Re: Joomla

Joomla is nice, I think it fills an interesting gap between Wordpress and Drupal. Having said that, I don't personally recommend Joomla. If you just have a single person website/blog, Wordpress is enormously powerful (and a large community creating plugins), if you want something that scales more fo...
