Re: Crypto-currencies

Carlson1 - please delete this thread; it's obviously run its course. I'll carry on doing my own thing and just shut my trap in the future. I dunno. I'm equally invested in ETH and consider my investment to already be worth the effort (3x the value now and rising). I thought the thread was worth dis...

You might want to rethink that statement once you understand how your money is "insured" by the FDIC.

Short version: You're going to be mighty disappointed if you think you're gonna get your money back.

Re: Crypto-currencies

It's only a profit when you sell. The question is.......... when do you sell? Still a Ponzi. Please refute the following then, take your time, I can wait: - There is no central benefactor, thus there is no "pyramid" structure. It is, in fact, the opposite. No single person or entity can simply run ...

Re: Crypto-currencies

I wish I would have had the additional "play money" to buy more Ethereum. I still think it's a good price point to buy at, but I got in pretty early.

One time bump for price drop. Taking these off the "for sale" list by 12 January if they don't sell.

Re: OC Has Gun Taken Away

Open carrying is pretty much the dumbest thing possible in public environments where you don't know the people around you. You are telegraphing exactly how you're armed and where your firearm is at. I fully support the change in laws that support open carry, but doesn't change the fact that if you'r...

Re: CC/OC in city park at ticketed event

I dare you to open carry... :biggrinjester: No thanks. There's a non-trivial contingent of APD officers that are just aching to "make and example" of an open carrier (I would not doubt that the mayor would give them a bonus in their paycheck, regardless of the legality of their actions, and no matt...

Or just ignore it and carry anyway since it is legal. Or open carry. :evil2:
Oh, I didn't say I wasn't carrying :tiphat:

Re: CC/OC in city park at ticketed event

Resurrecting this thread. Just left the Austin Trail of Lights. Now they have an (illegal) 30.06 sign posted at the entrance. Who wants to (pointlessly) tell the city they’re not permitted?

I don't think anybody in this thread was arguing otherwise :headscratch

Re: Crypto-currencies

On the other hand, the basis of BTC is pretty strong, not so much on what it's backed by, but the fact that it's getting harder and harder to make more of it. Isn't that true of every crypto currency based on block chain? Even if the concept has a long term future, maybe BTC is the next Betamax or ...

Re: Crypto-currencies

Yeah, no way - I've only put in an amount I already had (not borrowing) that I'm willing to lose. I did the same. I have investments in BTC and ETH, both of which are nearing 2x my initial investment (I will politely decline to discuss the bitcoinS I sold a few years ago when I thought it was reall...

Re: Fed to seize guns from people who failed background checks

I do not see this as a gun grab but normal business as usual. I agree. Most of you know I ran an FFL biz for many years (and I'm grateful for mrvmax for his sage advice when I first started it!). In those seven or so years, I had two firearms that were in delay mode, then went "Denied" AFTER the wa...

Re: Glock 41 (45ACP), 4 extra mags $660

It's a sweet pistol. I bought it thinking I would use it for the "Heavy" class in 3 Gun. Put a couple mags through it at Red's and then it went into the safe. Really like it, but the reality is that I have almost zero time anymore to even go to the range, much less 3-Gun matches. Since the wife and ...
