Re: New Taxes in 2011

So why should the taxes go up for only the rich? Can anyone answer that question? Here is your answer http://www.cnn.com/2010/OPINION/04/15/hodge.non.taxpayers/index.html When 47% of the households don't pay any income tax (and some even get refunds), everyone else by default is "rich" If you think...

Re: Attempted Vehicle Entry

Sometimes informal justice has a poetry uniquely its own. Well said. I have a mental image of the perp snapping the latches on the brief case and having the diamond back lunge at him as soon as he lifted the lid. A life of crime can be far less risk free than some of those trying to do it imagine.

Re: Post-incident survival - in your own home

One of the parts of the book that I just finished reading was where de Becker is to speak to a group of prisoners. After he recounts the 10 year old experiences that you cited, one of the prisoners, who had had similar experiences of physical abuse, drugs in his family, etc. asked "how come you are ...

Re: Church Carry -- Question from Renewal Class

I don't believe they told us that in the July 19th class (don't carry in church anyway). But there were other issues where their answers were less than helpful, and I believe, based on what they WISHED to be true. As a very green newbie to the CHL world, this has been exactly my concern from the be...

Re: Manufacturing Pending

Did anyone camp out by the mailbox once there status said mailed. I am just waiting for my status to say mailed. Nope but I now have a new "best bud". I figure that he may bring me a present by Saturday. Assuming it actually is in the mail, it shouldn't take longer than that (said by someone who ha...

Re: Post-incident survival - in your own home

Just an update and a big, public THANK YOU to Excaliber. I had read "In the Gravest Extreme" before I applied for a CHL It had been suggested that I read it before I ever considered carrying and I thought that was great advice. On Ex caliber's advice, I ordered both "A Gift of Fear" and "Tactical Re...

Re: Ever wonder why rabid anti-gunners...

I think there is more in the category than politicians. A good friend and work colleague and I had many discussions while we were working and traveling together. She was a rabid anti-gun so we didn't bring that topic up much. She was very well educated, highly intelligent, very perceptive and not at...

Re: July 2010 Applications

I need to speak to the boss down there and take their job. There is no consistency on getting CHL's out! :banghead: Ahhh.... you missed the last requirem...

Oldgringo said that.
So what lead you to believe that any gun discussed here is unloaded?

Re: Murders in an RV

[ I do note that the RV'er had a shotgun -- and there was a struggle over it. Shotguns are devastating, but longarms are awkward in close spaces, which is why I still prefer my pistol for primary self-defense in the home (and in my RV if I had one). Now if there are two defenders, one pistol and on...

Re: Murders in an RV

Actually, there was an incident where a BG broke into a motor home in a Wal-Mart parking lot in the middle of the night. A long story short, the motor home owner shot the BG but is now sueing Wal-Mart. It won't take more than a couple of those before Wal-Mart bans overnight RV parking. Many cities h...

Re: June 2010 applications

I still show as "manufacturing pending" this morning. I've read on other posts that the guys actually got their plastic and their status shows the same as mine. I can only hope. So print the bloody thing and get it in the mail already! :banghead: :banghead: I may be wrong but it sure looks like thos...

Murders in an RV

When I first joined this forum, I mentioned that my main reason for getting a CHL was to be able to use it in our RV. Several posters questioned me as to why. Here is a good example: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/38609783/ns/us_news-crime_and_courts Do I think that the potential for becoming a crime v...

Re: CHL defends self and car

And I think that is where the CHL erred. By turning it into a running gun battle. Of course I wasn't there and it's easy to say that, arm chair quarterbacking the incident. I guess that was my initial thought, too, but it is very possible that, having pulled his gun, it was the CHL who was pursued,...
