For all you Mac users...

I read about this program in today's Wall Street Journal. (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704111504576059872618841498.html?mod=WSJ_Tech_RIGHTTopCarousel" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) It removes the files for all the non-English languages from your computer. I've run ...

Re: SOB Comments

The collective wisdom of the forum have persuaded my wife to an alternative to the SOB option that she wanted to pursue... although she is not happy about it. We've decided on the DeSantis Tuck-This II... now I've got to see if there is a new holster that I can order for myself (somehow I think ther...

Re: Very inspiring

Excellent video. FYI, the program Nature on PBS aired a program last night called "American Eagle." You can watch it online at http://video.pbs.org/video/1069726516/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: SOB Comments

Thanks for the responses. This will give her some more to think about... she looked at the Ladies section and read some of the posts on carry options and holster recommendations. I normally carry OWB or IWB at 3-4:00, but have never tried the SOB option so I couldn't give her my perspective. Happy N...

Re: SOB Comments

It only takes once to produce a devastating and permanently disabling injury. When so many better and safer methods are available, to me it makes no sense to go out of one's way to take such a huge and unnecessary risk. Are you saying that SOB carry is more prone to accidental discharge? Or that if...

SOB Comments

My wife finally took the CHL class a few days ago. :thumbs2: She originally was wanting to only carry in her purse, but now is considering carrying on her body. Any comments on Small of the Back carry?

Re: League City (Galveston Co.): The Arms Room to expand

The only negative was the wait time. It was approximately one hour at 1:15 p.m. today. However, the check-in lady let us register, go to lunch, and come back to shoot. I went a couple of times before the December $5 special and there were only a few people shooting. I went on Dec. 17 and they were ...

Unfortunately it is pretty clear in our Employee Handbook. The district my wife works at is the same... in fact they are almost verbatim. I think TEA has a template for the "local" policies for school districts.

Re: Get Real or Get Lost!

Much better and more comprehensive legislation would include not only legal carry on college campuses but inside almost all workplaces where there is a long history of shooting incidents in workplaces that have killed many people across the country. Leaving your weapon in the car in the parking lot...

Re: And here we have the "Gun Free Dining" site...

Thanks for posting this (my mother and sister live in TN.) This will definitely come in handy... I'll e-mail some of the individual restaurants that I won't be bringing my business to them. In fact, some of the national chains will lose my business here in TX.

Re: Better safe than sorry

Another tip for dealing with craigslist: I use a dedicated "disposable" e-mail address (that doesn't include any part of my name) for all correspondence, and I don't give my cell number until I feel it is a done deal. I've done a fair share of transactions and have had a positive experience with all...

I wear Bates boots that I got at Academy. They are comfortable and have a great grip. May not be the style you are looking for, but they have been working good for me. http://www.batesfootwear.com/US/en-us/Product.mvc.aspx/8472M/0/Footwear/Mens/8-inch-Water-Resistant-Tactical-Sport-Boot?galleryId=G-...

The Port of Houston has a pretty neat (and free) boat tour. We've taken several out of town people on this and I still enjoy it every time. http://www.portofhouston.com/samhou/samhou.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
