Re: Road trip to Atlanta

I was just digging up some threads at Georgia packing and the most recent posts say no metal detectors.

Re: Question about Law

Just to hijack the thread further, I wonder if this statute could be applied to the police kicking in the wrong door on a no-knock raid? I would say no because even on a no-knock warrant as soon as the door opens you identify yourself as Law Enforcement. e.g. scream "police, get on the floor" But t...

Re: Question about Law

I doubt you will find any case law directly on this type of situation. It is possible, and if I were to search for it, I would look at the claims of self-defense made in trials for shooting police officers. What normally happens in the US is that the officer's force was upheld or, if it is so bad t...

Re: Carrying at the Houston Rodeo & Livestock

Follow up - The change requiring "effective notice" is in the campus carry bill, and puts ALL sporting events (scholastic, collegiate, and professional) in the same category as churches, hospitals, and amusement parks. Winning! How will this reconcile with public property, though? If the Texans don...

Re: Question about Law

With the right lawyer and the wrong cop, maybe. I'm real curious to see if any case law is out there on this one. Tagging this post so I can keep track of i. :headscratch

Road trip to Atlanta

Headed to Atlanta over spring break via LA, MS, AL and of course GA. Going to work on brushing up on each states laws, but I always appreciate additional information and insight.
We'll be hitting the Zoo and the Aquarium (primary purpose of the visit) while in Atlanta.

Re: Concealed Carry Question

I think there might be something else to consider. Charles has already posted that he thinks the section referenced (grounds where a school sponsored event is taking place) only is meant to apply to school owned grounds. I cannot find any reasonable grounds to disagree with him and give in to his l...

Re: Carrying Concealed on a Military base in Oklahoma

Excuse me. I got a little carried away. I meant machine gun. ;-) To continue the fun at your expense theme, where can one find a 50mm machine gun? :evil2: I'm not sure if this is still true, but when I lived on a military base I was not able to keep a weapon in my home either. I had to check it in ...

Re: Carrying Concealed on a Military base in Oklahoma

Call the base. They might honor the permit, or at least let you check your weapon at the front gate so you don't have to leave it off base or in your hotel. I do think it's crazy that military men and women can shoot machine guns, rocket launchers, 50 mm canon's, grenade launchers etc.. but try and ...

Re: CHL Scenario Training

One of the things that seems to be missing from CHL training is practice in different scenarios. I was thinking it would be cool if there was some kind of scenario training where you were presented with "real life" type role-play scenarios, some of which require deadly force and some which don't. Y...

Re: Carrying at the Houston Rodeo & Livestock

Professional in the most common meaning (and no, I am not here to say that the law uses what is common) is if a person gets paid for winning at a sport type event. Just look at NCAA Rules, they are even more strict, a person cannot be paid in money or gifts or other tangible items in lieu of money ...
