There you go disqualifying yourself from the jury pool! What kind of juror would YOU be, what with thinking and all?

Re: Where do you shoot?

Which reminds me I need to grab my 17 year old Saturday and take him to the range. He asked to learn to shoot about 2 weeks ago. Where do you shoot? My son & I like Carter's Country over on Treaschwig & Shooters Station on 105 west of Conroe so far. Shooter's Station is pricier than Careter...

I sort of work out there. I go out there a couple times each year when I need to meet someone face-to-face, but usually I work from home.

Instead of Lowes for cable...

Instead of Lowes for cable, could you maybe use some of that plastic-coated cable they sell at bike shops? They come pre-made with the loops already finished, so you wouldn't have the fingers being torn up problem, but I don't know if the loops will fit through the holes...

I like to think of it in football terms... tis the time of year again--YES, Finally! I agree. (GO Pack!) I also like what my Pop says... "It'll follow you around the corner and kick your ^%$@!" (he was talking about FMJs, but I think some of the rounds discussed here can do the sam...

Thanks for all the info

Thank you everyone for all the info. I guess I've got some research to do, since there doesn't seem to be any real concensus on which loads, although I've noticed quite a few of you like the Speer Gold Dots. Paladin, thanks for the links to those loading for LEOs. I'll add them to my short list to t...

Caliber I carry

Well, I'm going to be carrying a SA 1911-A1 GI MilSpec .45 ACP with the 5" barrel, so it can take the +P loads as well as the standard loads. I want to be able to stop a BG even if he ducks around the corner of the wall, but I don't want to accidentally shoot my neighbor. My concern about defor...

What ammo load do you carry, and why?

I'm trying to decide what type of rounds to carry. I grew up shooting, buut never worried too much about what rounds, because FMJ seemed like the best all-around choice. I haven't done much shooting in the last 20 years, though, and the choices of load seem to have multiplied. I chatted with my fath...

Thanks for the welcome

Thanks for the welcome. I'm looking forward to the class (always good to have a refresher). Where are you taking your renewal? I'm attending class at Carter's Country on Treaschwig Rd. It isn't as conveniently located as some other classrooms, but the classroom and range portions are all in the same...

Re: Spam filters & Microsoft Outlook Express

Personally, I like Qurb (http://www.qurb.com/) for spam filtering. It trains based on who's in your address book and based on any folder setup you may already have to determine who is legit and who isn't. You get a separate folder that generates a pop-up window that allows you to examine the subject...
