Re: Action Needed: Employer Parking Lots

Perhaps I shouldn't have referred to it as a safety video. It's an orientation video. It describes items that are prohibited from inside the secure area such as firearms, drugs, alcohol, ect. My favorites are "No sleeping" and "No horseplay", when that's just about all the operators do when things ...

Re: Its not worth it.....

A good example of why HB681 (Employer parking lot bill) is so important.

For most of us this is most likely to happen during the commute, and should someone become a victim as a result of not carrying due to employer policy, some of the blood is on that employer's hands.

My G26 appears to have the rail as well.

Re: Beginning to love revolvers

The only thing that can make a 5 shot revolver better is the addition of a set of Laser Grips IMO. If anyone doesn't think a .38 snub can get 'er done, watch these: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vToUmb5r2A" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (Colt Cobra) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=...

Re: What's the Origin of Your User Name?

In 2005 I became an avid photographer, and adopted "rp_photo" as an online alias. I'm still avid, but share the passion with a newer hobby ;-) I do a lot of photography at various outdoor locations, usually accompanied with expensive equipment and a human model, so having a CHL and EDC fits in well.

Re: Beginning to love revolvers

I shot a revolver for the fist time when I made my last trip to the range, been 2 months now I need my fix, and I fell in love with the smith & wesson revolver .38+p that I rented. Something about it just seemed so "right". I describe revolvers are more "organic", which I realize sounds lame. Also,...

Beginning to love revolvers

My first gun purchase was a Glock 26 last December. For lack of a better reason, I got it by "default" due to the positive reputation of Glock and the 9mm Luger caliber. I also had some limited Glock 19 experience a few years back. After getting my "SA" CHL with that gun, I realized I needed somethi...

Re: Action Needed: Employer Parking Lots

All employees who lawfully possess firearms and/or ammo, unless they work at a chemical manufacturing plant or a refinery. In those two locations, you must have a CHL to come within the protection of SB321. Chas. I'm assuming that only includes lots and areas outside of the main gates. I normally w...

Re: Action Needed: Employer Parking Lots

Any bill that forces a private property owner to do something against their wishes is a Socialist Bill... As I see it, only the owner of "private private" property (i.e. a personal residence) deserves one-sided rights. When the property owner's enterprise depends on the presence of others (i.e. a r...

Re: SB321: Employer parking lots

Can employers circumvent this by posting 30.06 signs at lot entrances? No. There is a doctrine in law that the "specific controls the general." TPC §30.06 is a trespass statute that is based upon the ability of a property owner to bar entry to certain persons. SB321 strips employers of this authori...

Re: Action Needed: Employer Parking Lots

I called every committee member today and also wrote them a letter. This bill infringes on Private Property Ownership. As a business owner, I find this kind of legislation offensive. I have no issues with guns inside of vehicles while on my property, but I have a serious issue with people who write...

Re: ACOE land and federal HR 1865

The ACOE ban is even more flawed than employee parking lot and campus carry bans IMHO, and it is time the loophole be closed.

Niether private property nor "secure" areas are involved here, and since the Federal Government is the adversary, the Second Ammedment should apply more than ever.

As with all CHL issues, we need to celebrate quietly and especially avoid rubbing anything in "The Man's" face.
