Re: Parking lots and employee handbooks?

A question. Congrats on the parking lot win. But I reading around the internet (obviously the source of all truth! ) that employers can rewrite their handbooks to make not having a gun in the car a condition of employment. So is this legal under the legislation? If so, it would make the bill ...

If he will do this on OpenCarry.org, then we can only conclude that he will do likewise within the Lone Star Citizens Defense League, since he is the LSCDL President. You mean this call to veto SB766? http://www.lonestarcdl.org/community/index.php?topic=207.0 I'm not a member so I can't see the pos...

Re: Status of Campus Carry and Parking Lot (in layman's term

What all does the parking lot bill encompass? Employees only. Locked, privately owned motor vehicles in parking area. Some exceptions: preK-12 schools, company vehicles, chemical plants. Apparently the commenting period for the proposed is about to end (31 May 2011, From the High Road) http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=594983 It is imperative that gun owners respond to this: Read: http://www.examiner.com/gun-rights-i...alerts_article Sample comment here: http://www.firearm...

Re: CALL TO ACTION: SB905

OK, so the version of SB905 from the second committee meeting (at least I think it is from the second meeting) is up, and it includes legislators and statewide elected officials like in the engrossed Senate version. I guess the legislators really want their special treatment. SB905 has also been re...

Re: CALL TO ACTION: SB905

So, if it makes to a vote, will Kleinschmidt still offer his amendment? Or is it gutted to much? I'm not sure it would be considered germane, judging from what Charles was saying in the SB1581 thread. Kind of like a smoking ban in a fiscal bill? Yep, kind of like that! it's funny, I'm sitting here ...

Re: Do you support Joe Straus?

I found an interesting tidbit on the speaker. In 2010, he drew in over $5.2 Million in contributions The seventh highest in Texas. http://www.followthemoney.org/database/StateGlance/state_candidates.phtml?s=TX&y=2010 Didn't he run unopposed? I wonder what he's gonna do with all that cash? In compari...

Re: HB 3639 - SB 1581

It's clear there is a lot of educating that needs to be done before campus-carry passes. We have to remember that the general public simply doesn't care about this issue and the idea of "guns in school" still strikes fear in the hearts of many of those who are not as well educated on the facts of c...
