Re: Walked out of Academy Last Night

... For quite some time A. used to ask for my zip code. .... This I'll do for any store. Might get one built closer to me. the clerks have told me before that their marketing teams use the data to see the zipcodes of the customers to determine where to build new stores. seems legitimate, who knows....

Re: Walked out of Academy Last Night

most every store that sells age restricted items does this, usually they look at me and then enter some bogus date that meets the requirement. sometimes it says i was born in 1900...im not THAT old! i used to refuse to give my phone number when stores asked, but i get so much spam phone calls anyway...

Re: Spyderco knives

One of my favorite sd carry blades is my endurance wave, catches the pocket and opens while pulling out. Catch is you need to be careful when removing it to put away

I've also got a spyderco civilian that is massive but if I ever had to use it for defense it would seriously do some damage

Either of you priced land lately? Around the metroplex you can't buy enough land for a single pistol bay for $20k.
Last I checked you've got to go about an hour outside dfw to get cheaper pricing

Re: Are Grill Covers Really Needed?

the salesman actually told me NOT to buy the expensive cover because its known to trap moisture and cause mold inside the egg. I could be way wrong about this, so feel free to correct me. Seems like even if there was mold inside a grill, you are going to start the charcoal and let it burn down for ...

Re: Are Grill Covers Really Needed?

I do not have a grill cover for my Egg. I am able to move it underneath a patio roof to protect it mostly from the elements. However, it is mostly ceramic and not prone to rust. same, the salesman actually told me NOT to buy the expensive cover because its known to trap moisture and cause mold insi...

Re: Time for a Shield!

Only one of my shield 9 holsters seem to fit the 45 but thankfully I can just order a new shell from comptac and if the Internet is correct (it's on the internet so it's true right?) the sights are the same for the 9/40/45

Re: Glock 42 issue

I had the exact issue with the 42 I had, thought maybe I was just using too high of a grip but turns out a lot had the same issue with the early runs thought it would be solved by now. I ended up selling mine off, was up front I had some failure to lock back problems buyer was fine with it though I...

Re: Bought My First Shield!

Did some digging and the consensus seems it's a safety mechanism to avoid having to pull the trigger to release the slide, some pull the trigger some don't I've personally never been that bothered by pulling the trigger for glock take down , always safety check twice. The direct comparison of the p...

Re: Bought My First Shield!

Some striker-fired guns should not be dry fired with the magazine out. That applies to Glocks, not sure about S&W. Even glock says dry fire is fine as long as it's not excessive, which I think applies to just about anything.....but I don't want this to turn into a pro vs con of dry fire thr...
