Re: Best ankle holster?
I realize this is an old post, but the Galco ankle holster should definitely be considered. While the leather version is not cheap, I have carried a Glock 26 in one regularly for years. Very well made and dependable holster. While I agree holster carry is not the optimal choice for speed, I ALWAYS h...

I also have to add that I am a big believer in serrated blades. If it is dull, press harder!

Re: Let's talk knives.
Disclaimer: I am a long time Spyderco junkie. Someone mentioned support side carry of a folder and this is a topic that took me years to satisfy. I don't like auto knives at all...junk in my opinion. So far the only thing I've cut with one is myself when I stupidly put a key in my pocket along with ...

Re: Have You Changed Out Your Glock Guide Rod?
I have worn out a couple of the springs over the years, but never had the plastic part itself break. I made a single bulk purchase of them on EBay years ago and I'm certain it was a lifetime supply. The onky part of a Glock I've ever had break was the extractor. It had a huge chunk break loose and t...

You are out there improving which beats what most people are willing to do out of fear or laziness. Awesome.

Re: DPS drops M&P
How many times do you have to try to drive with a drug crazed, spitting, kicking, cursing, bleeding, HIV infected struggling prisoner in the front seat before a cage becomes worthwhile? Do DPS troopers do that enough times to justify the expense for every DPS unit in Texas? They don't work bad area...

Re: DPS drops M&P
This coming from an agency that issues Bushmaster rifles? Their gear opinions are not real high on my list ones I heed. They also don't put cages in their cars and transport prisoners in the front. Maybe I can find cheap M&P 9 mags because of it. No cages??!! Yup. Look closesly next tim...

Re: Police Academy Adventures
Juvenile law is tricky. The bottom line is they never reallly get what they ask for and a Judge reads their rights before an interview instead of you. Can't be in sight or sound of the jail.

Re: Becoming a LEO
Mods...Can I start a thread over my experience as I go through the police academy? This thread is really long. Sure. I'm looking forward to it. Don't be late, say Yes Sir, make sure your boots and belt buckle look better than everyone elses's, and beg for more OC spray...they will think you are cra...

Re: XS SIGHTS
I ran these sights for a while in 2006 andf had to get rid of them. I could not a 10 yard head shot on an IDPA target with them. I do love them on a shotgun. I really wanted to like these sights....

Re: Houston Police Chief hits pedestrian with city vehicle
I was not aware that these laws were this strict until there was a crackdown on pedestrian violators in Austin. After the article ran, the APD spokesman had the paper print a correction pointing this out. It is interesting to me, because the laws on entering the intersection are stricter for pedest...

Re: Becoming a LEO
This is a long thread so pardon me if I am repeating advice. I took a night academy so I would not have to quite my job. After graduation I did a year of Reserve work with a local S.O to make sure I loved the career as much as I thought I did. One night and I was hooked. I was hired by a medium size...
