Thanks for the replies folks. I've been through many of toast check points over the years and not one have I been asked to show my DL/ID, however there's a first for just about anything and I want to be prepared for it. I know their restricted to enforcing federal laws and not so much state laws.

South Texas traveling
I have a question for y'all, I am planning on traveling down to south Texas and I know there's a few border patrol check points, now Here's the question, I'm I required to present them my CHL license when asked for id?

Today I did my first walk with my CHL. I walked around Academy for 40 mins, then crossed the street and did some shopping at the mall for about 2 hours. I'll say this much, if you didn't have your Drivers License number memorised before you stated the CHL process, you will by the time you get your plastic in hand...

This is what I don't understand, me and three other co-workers attended the same CHL class and uploaded our paperwork to DPS within minutes apart from one another. This was 45 days ago and as of today everyone of them has had an update and I am still looking at the same screen, as I did on day one. ...

I pertty much agree with everyone on here about drinking and guns. From what I was told in my CHL class, you do not need to have a CHL to have a gun concealed in your vehicle, but you do need a CHL to carry the gun on your person while in your vehicle. Yes, I got two emails, one says they recieved my email and the other one saying they've recieved the documents attached to my email and that they have forwared my documents to a CHL Specialist.
