And I further thought that just having a handgun was not probable cause (by itself), any more than seeing someone driving ...

Re: Well I'm not shocked by this.
So the ATF has delivered their opinion on this, like they delivered their opinion on bump stocks. My question is whether any of these things have actually been found to meet the legal definition of a machine gun by anyone who's opinion matters (i.e. an actual judge)? No. The triggers are designed t...

Re: Need a little clarification on new law
Previously, there were two requirments in the CC-related Texas law: 1. If you were stopped by an LEO for a traffic infraction and asked for your ID, you were required to also provide him with your LTC if you were carrying concealed at that moment. 2. If you were carrying openly, an LEO could approa...

Re: Shooting in Arlington School
The adult shooter in this case is going to have a hard time proving self defense if it's true that he left the scene, retrieved the gun, then returned to shoot 3 people. Even if he had pulled the gun while the fight was in progress, he'd have to rely on a disparity of force argument. That didn't wo...

Re: How much is too much?
It occurs to me that 1860 style secession is not really in the cards. The economies of the States are too linked. Just the modern telecom and energy and other supply chain infrastructures are too interlinked to function with a total lack of economic (and therefore some level of political) cooperatio...
